Yes. He should average 15/7 easily. 28/16 is too much, I agree, but 8/3 he can average in the NBA right now. _________________

Well, no, but I would expect better scoring numbers for sure. Keep in mind that his matchups aren't even good at all, there's only one player in Memphis who's taller than 6'9", and even that guy (Andreas Glyniadakis) is a 7'1" project. He should really abuse his matchups, I would think, with the poor competition.
Bynum really seems motivated to earn his playing time next year. I would expect him to come out with a vengeance and play hard at all times. _________________ Ideal Lakers: Kirk Snyder, Derek Anderson, Fred Jones, Theo Ratliff, Mickael Gelebale Others of interest: Ricky Davis, Jason Williams, Bonzi Wells, Quinton Ross, Yakhouba Diawara, Walter Herrmann, Salim Stoudamire, Devin Brown, Michael Finley, Juan Dixon, Brian Skinner, Jamaal Magloire, Kareem RushMORE |

| He averaged 10, 7.5, and 2 last year. It would be kinda hard to average 8 and 3, even if he doesn't try. |

| Absolutely. Wouldn't that put him below his numbers last year? Regardless, we need Bynum to step up this year. He can't carry the team, but he needs to be able to contribute. if he can't hold his own in the SPL then maybe we should trade him.... |

Anything less than domination..he is plaing against lesser competition..or at best equal..if he can't cominate in SPl ..then playing decent in real games will be impossible |

Not really. Amare averaged 13 and 8 in his first summer league, Howard averaged 18 and 7.5 last year, it's harder to dominate in summer league, especially for bigs, than people think. The minutes are shorter and with how unorganized teams run their offense, if you're a big(who requires guards to make good entry passes), you're pretty much screwed.
If Bynum averages 20 and 10, then he's definitely for real, because if he does, it will not be on skill, but rather by physical domination, which means it will translate. |

i would like him to score at least ten points a game. but then again, summer leaguye is more about seeing the players not signed. if he does average those stats. it had better be in like 10 minutes a games _________________

Dangit Bynum
Me and some guy were complaining about him at half time. He can't get position, and even when he does he just passes out. _________________

Game 1: He looked slower than he did last year and didn't get off the ground as well.
If the Greek looked a project for Memphis, Bynum looked like a major project for us. _________________

Where did you get those numbers? 10.4 points, 7.5 boards, 1.3 assist, 2.6 TO, 1.6 blocks _________________

You're the first person who said that he looked slower. Curious. _________________

Here's a clip of a couple of plays:
http://rapidshare.de/files/25338145/SPL-070806-1stHalf.mpg.html
A couple of observations:
First, he jumped very quickly for that offensive rebound. In other words, there's explosion there, clearly surprised me the first time I saw it. The dunk was so-so, but there was a guy to his right, contesting it. And he dunked it with two hands(and obviously, it's harder to get both hands over the rim than just one.) If that was Kwame, he probably would have tried to lay it off the glass.
As far as being slow, look at how he moves after setting a screen. From what I remember him from the regular season, he looks quicker now than he was than.
Finally, Wafer should have cleared to the corner instead of the middle behind the arc. That would have allowed Bynum to go one-on-one instead of being doubled.
All in all, I'm quite encouraged, he looks a bit quicker and more explosive, which is what you'd figured, after having spend just two months in the gym. |

Didn't seem to rotate to the ball very well. I recall being impressed with his reactions and mobility at last year's SPL. Granted, Glyniadakis spent most of the game with a stiff-arm in AB's chest, but Andrew didn't roll off the defender well at all.
Bynum certainly looked like he'd been in the weight room. He's definitely bulked up from last year. We'll see how he fares for the two weeks. Often when young players are in the midst of weight training and body development, it takes awhile for their reactions/quickness to keep catch up.
His elevation definitely was not there today. Dunno what that's about. _________________
