lakers out:
mihm (3)
evans (1.5)
sasha (1.8)
farmar (1)
lakers in:
camby (9)
:::: lakers get their coveted camby without giving up the expiring of kwame brown. instead they can use that in some sort of o'neal or artest trade to add further talent (assuming that expiring has value to those teams). camby improves their defense dramatically for obvious reasons. by saving kwame for a future trade, it gives them more options. perhaps do the indiana trade (lo + ab for jo), and then see if kwame & the 19th can get artest, sign & trade walton for backcourt depth....sign bell for the MLE, and you can legitimately contend.
bell/shamu
kobe/walton trade
artest/radmanovic
o'neal/turiaf
camby/o'neal/who cares
that team is BEASTLY defensively. i don't think anybody could score against it consistently. health is an issue....but all you need is a healthy 5 going into the playoffs and you could beat anyone.
denver out:
camby (9)
denver in:
mihm (3)
mopete (4)
farmar (1)
:::: denver gets immediate cap relief through lesser salaries (mihm & mopete would be BYC players, because of the S&T, so it allows denver to trade for less than 75% of camby's contract) and through a 3 for 1 trade...that gives them depth without adding more payroll on top of camby's salary. peterson's a veteran shooter and decent defender...who's actually made shots in playoff games (unlike jr & kleiza)...he's signed and traded for a contract in the range of 4 years, 16 million. mihm's signed and traded on a 3 year deal, where the second 2 years are non-guaranteed. of course the trade is only done if he's cleared to play by a denver doctor. this allows denver to simply waive him next season to get luxury tax relief, or continue to pay him if he works out as a good backup C. farmar's a project pg who would get limited minutes behind iverson for now...but could be a longterm solution for the team.
iverson/farmar
peterson/smith
anthony/kleiza
martin/najera
nene/mihm
good mix of stars, role players, shooters & defenders. should be enough to atleast get to the WCFs
toronto out:
mopete (4)
toronto in:
(maurice) evans (1.5)
vujacic (1.8)
:::: toronto gets more of a garbage player in evans (as compared to mopete). i believe this trade was suggested by a toronto fan in another thread, and approved by a couple other toronto fans, so i guess they're onboard.
ford/calderon
parker/dixon
garbajosa/evans
bosh/humphries
bargnani/rasho
not much change in their lineup....but some more experience together should get that group further in the playoffs.

<----nuggets fan.
they want a little cap refief, and to add depth to the roster.
this accomplishes that by cutting 4 million immediately from the payroll (8 million in real money) and by getting 3 players instead of 1. |

Obvious you're a Nugget fan. I'm sure the Lakers want to trade off all their young guards for an old center. Go back to Denver's forum to post this kind of crap.
Lock please... |

well...they seem totally willing to trade their young center for the 33 year old camby...and including farmar and/or a pick.
lakers get this years dpoy for last years 26th pick, last years 2nd round pick, sasha lol vujacic, and a backup center who hasn't played in a year and a half.
what a horrible idea. |

| Sasha, Farmar, Evans, Mihm....they'll probably be the best available role players we can find after/if we trade for JO and/or Artest. I'd rather give up Kwame than half our bench for Camby. |

Not sure if this got posted anywhere yet. This is from the Denver Post:
The Nuggets, who have no draft picks, have described guard Von Wafer as their second-round pick this year and believe he is more talented than anyone they saw at the NBA predraft camp. ... Word is the Nuggets laughed at the Lakers last week when they called dangling butter-fingered big man Kwame Brown for Marcus Camby. |

well most would.
the problem for the lakers is that they won't get camby for kwame brown straight up. or kwame brown & farmar. so to get him they'd have to pursue other options....and this is one. |
