I think if I had to pick between these two I would take Gasol. I don't think O'Neal is the player he use to be and is only going to keep declining. We can get P. Gasol for less plus now we have his little brother and I'm sure he would love to be on the same team with him to help develop him. I say we send the PG we draft in the first round + Bynum + Odom, for Gasol and Conley Jr. _________________ LAKER FAN FOR LIFE |

Easily Jo.
Were still going to get killed witth that softy patrolling the lanes. Jo is one of the best shotblockers in the league and frankly that is what were missing, someone who could help on double penetration. _________________ Proud Member of Team Farmar |

If we can get Pau for less, and then be able to do another trade for maybe Artest to get that defensive apsect, then I say go for that.
JO for Odom and Bynum isn't going to improve the team enough to justify that trade. |

I voted for Pau.
JO has a lot more explosiveness that Pau, but he's too injury prone, so that Pau will be a better player for us in this case. He's 4 years younger thanJermaine.
Imagine if we give up LO and Drew for JO and during the season he gets injured and screws us. |

Gasol is younger and cheaper and you don't have to give up everyone on the team to get him. Most of all he's WAY better than nothing so , DO IT MITCH! _________________ Weezy's Weemens

Pau,
he is
cheaper,
younger,
HAS a back to the basket game (JO lost his)
Shoots a much higher percentage from the field 10% better on the season PG 53% JO 43%. and 5% over their respective careers PG 51% JO 46%
better passer
less fragile PG played in 88% of games in the last 6 years, where as JO is 79% of games over the same period.
only labeled soft because he is euro
so i would take pau... _________________ "God creates out of nothing. Wonderful you say. Yes, to be sure, but he does what is still more wonderful: he makes saints out of sinners."

Gasol since we could definitely keep Odom. _________________

BOTH!
The Lakers are not willing to part with Odom for Jermaine O'Neal.
So trade Kwame and Bynum and Radmanovic for O'Neal.
And then trade Odom for Gasol.
Wouldn't that be a decent lineup?
C - Gasol / Mihm
PF - O'Neal / Turiaf
SF - Walton / LLE (wasn't SF our most crowded position on the roster not long ago?)
SG - Kobe / Evans
PG - Papaloukas (MLE) / Farmar / Crittenton |

Gasol's without question seems to make more sense, so my question is: WHY HAVEN'T THE LAKERS CONTACTED THE GRIZZ IF HE'S AVAILABLE?
Does anyone know or think they know why? |

i selected gasol due to money reasons...he leaves more money for us to spend
player vs player, oneal is simply better. far better defense. |

they may very well have. look at the sonics celts trade on draft night, no one knew a thing about it until an executive called katz to tell him it was done during the pre show. Katz then didnt report till later in the night... _________________ "God creates out of nothing. Wonderful you say. | Gasol cuz he is cheaper, we get to keep lamar and we dont have to give up bynum or odom.. there are other ways to get him.. we can also get ron artest which would be a plus and then our MLE most probbaly a PG... we can trade luke, sasha, and mihm or kwame for gasol... whichever they like... if mihm plays in the summer league and the grizz like him we can trade him otherwise its kwame... |

We all know he got hurt and was out but what everyone is saying he is not injury prone like O'Neal. I think Gasol would be great for us and give us a true 20 and 10 big man which we just don't have, and except for Detroit all of the title teams in 2000's have had a 20 and 10 big man. _________________ LAKER FAN FOR LIFE |

Gasol just cause he is not injury prone.Jo is better but i don't want to risk it when i can get a younger player like Gasol.
I would like both as long as we don't trade Odom.Gasol looks easier if we want to keep Odom i think. |
