The Lakers have enaugh young players. They picked international projects because they want them to develop and MAYBE join the team in the future...

we did not intend to have 3 new rookies added to an already too young roster.

He would count against the Lakers roster, they don't want to have rookies they aren't using taking up roster spots. That's why he will stay overseas.

Here's a video of Marc Gasol that was put up on Youtube yesterday. Highlights of Gasol going up against Spurs' first round pick Tiago Splitter. Both look good in the highlights. Also, the question of whether or not Gasol can dunk is answered.
