With the Pepsi Pro League starting up today, I thought I'd create this thread. More teams and more idle comments will arise.

Vegas Summer League: July 6-15

Pepsi Pro League: July 9 -13

Rocky Mountain Revue: July 13-20

Summer Pro League: July 8-15

Kinda sad to see a former Lakers player back in the SPL after years in the league...and fighting for a spot no less.

Another big game for Belinelli

Thadeus Young came up big in a loss, with a double double. The guy has great size and is a steal at 13.

Louis Williams put on a show as well.

Pierre Pierce on the Warriors was also really impressive.

Durant is still struggling with his shot. Tonight vs the Knicks was just ugly.

4-19 FG
2-6 3pt FG
8-8 from the line (the one area he excelled)
1 rebound
0 assists
4 turnovers
18 points

what shockes me most is that he doesn´t contribute in ANYthing...

he doesn´t pass, he doesn´t rebound, he doesn´t defend...he basicly sucks so far. But SPL really is a weird game...you see guys like Rondo, Farmar, and so on...REAL NBA players play absolutely horrible and you see scrubs going on a scoring spree...SPL has its own rules...

I'm sure they're just talking about the haunting memories of the Lakers beating them all those times.

Marcus Williams (Nets PG, not the Spurs F/G) had a solid outing against the Heat today.

28 points
6 boards
5 assists

Quinn had 23 for the Heat and by the way, their team is absolutely terrible...much like their actual roster.

Damn... I didn't know the kid had it in him.

He'd dominate in Europe.

Pretty good game between the Lakers and Philly yesterday, it was actually watchable. I enjoyed the long talk with George Karl too, it's nice getting a little inside glimpse on behind the scenes actions, particularly when he's discussing the Lakers. I have a gut feeling his son is going to end up signed with us and spending the year on the D-Fenders.

This made me laugh:

Quote:
5. Von Wafer, Denver Nuggets – Wafer shot the ball very well in scoring 19 points in an 87-83 loss to Dallas. He showed excellent range on his jump shot in making three of four three-pointers, and he was effective putting the ball on the floor and getting to the free-throw line (where he went 8-for-11). The Nuggets need help at the point guard position and they need better three-point shooting. Wafer might at least solve the shooting problem.

Tyrus with 12 boards and 5 blocks tonight. He's averaging 4.7 (rounded) BPG in the 3 games they've played. Bulls beat the Heat, again...the Heat are atrocious. Quinn has been their best player. Daequan Cook has done absolutely nothing but put up a horrible shooting percentage.

Kareem had 16 points (6-10 FG) in their W over the Nets.

In Orlando's loss, Redick had another impressive game with 24 points (9-14 FG). But Muoneke (who?) for the Cats put up 31 points.

Thomas & Mack is ten times bigger than the pyramid in Long Beach, that's why it looks so "empty." The crowd today for the Lakers/Blazers game actually was the highest amount of all the games at T&M this year. Woulda filled Cox Pavillion for sure.

Has anyone else been amazed with Jason Smith? Now granted, we all know it's summer league and all but he's showed an amazing skill set. Plays hard all the time, has good hands, and can hit the mid range shot off the dribble. Also attacks the boards constantly. A lot of us CL'ers made it a mockery with the draft projections having the Lakers taking Jason Smith but he's shown he might end up being more than a decent player down the road.

Wow, the China team is getting owned.

Sun looks like he gets a lot of assists, but can't shoot. I don't think he'll get those assists in the NBA until he develops some kind of scoring ability.

Yi is playing pretty bad, but it looks like he can shoot free throws, unlike Crit. Do you think Yi is tanking the summer in order to get traded?

How about Yi + trade exception for Cook + Sasha?

Former Laker great Von Wafer poured in 25 point in the Nuggets win over the Pistons. Pistons were led by Afflalo with 19 points.

Aaron Brooks had an impressive game in the Texas matchup, Rockets vs. Mavs. Scoring 28 points, dishing out 7 assists.

A few stats pop out from the Knicks victory over the Kings...
-Morris (NYK) gets another double double (10 & 11)
-Nate (NYK) gets a double double too, 21 points & 10 assists
-Rookie Chandler (NYK) had 15 points and 4 blocks
-Hawes (SAC) was the high scorer for the game with 22 points
