When asked if the Lakers had what it takes to contend for a championship, Jackson put the onus on his big men, saying: "I don't know. We'll have to be awfully good in the middle. We've got two guys who were injured and one guy who was a novice. They have to be real effective for us."

Jackson said all three will probably get a chance to play early in the season.

"We always had three centers in Chicago," Jackson said. "They plugged the middle, boxed guys out so Rodman could rebound."[/quote]

So who's our "Rodman", then?

Don't tell me Lamar, because I thought he was supposed to be our "Pippen".

Lamar is half rodman and half pippen. But he has no chemistry with our MJ. mad1

We gotta give Kwame another shot at being a Rodman-style PF before we ship him out...

We did that twice already. Enough is enough. I don't think the guy will ever learn to box out. I'd like him a lot more if he was our bruiser off the bench, but he has no place starting or playing critical minutes on a playoff team with that important of a role. Even then, he's not worth the money. At least he's expiring.

If only Turiaf could stay out of foul trouble.

Kwame and Turiaf. Don't let sportswriters' classifications full you. Kwame is a natural PF. Odom is a natural SF. Just because they are versatile enough to play other positions does not change that fact.

Reason why Pipen had chemistry with Jordan was because they competed with each other on the court but also knowing what they're role was.

Odumb on the other hand... can't compete with Kobe (can't push each other or Odumb goes to sleep), can't initiate the offense (tri), can't defend men his size, only thing he is good for is rebounds. Really we shouldn't be comparing pipen to odumb. It's not even the same type of player.

Exactly. With this group we should be discussing "who is our Scott Burrell, Scott Williams, Bill Wennington, Randy Brown, Jason Caffey, and Jud Buechler

I'm so tired of the comparisons (for lack of a better word).

We are not the Bulls! We are the farkin' Lakers!
