We've just had three days of Phil-- training camp (2) media day (1) and he is still at the top of his media game.

Quote:
Jackson, asked if Bynum had matured, said, "He looks six months older than when I last saw him."

Quote:
"Chris looked great; Andrew looked good," Jackson said. "And Kwame's looking great. He cut his hair! He looks great."

Another gem from an article today:

Quote:
After an utterly forgettable first season with the Lakers, Vladimir Radmanovic has been shooting well from the outside in training camp.

"He looks more like a ballplayer than a snowboarder to me," Jackson said dryly.

Slava laughed at the suggestion his skills might be affected by the down time. "Are you kidding?" he said. "Basketball is like ball. It's all a circle."

bow You got to love Phil, its funny because my first impression of the man was of a very dry and monotonic serious person. I love his sense of humor and the mind games he plays, plus hes baggin Jeanie Buss so the guy knows what he doing mhihi

And another...

Quote:
"We do know who the toilet-tissue paper players are," Jackson said with a smile about players sitting out because of minor injuries. "We make a note of that. Right now we've got a few of them.

A new one...

Quote:
Jackson claimed to know what Walton's problem is.

"He's sweating a lot (and has) low potassium here in Hawaii. He's got to eat more bananas," Jackson joked.

Same witty, cutting remarks that are sarcastically funny and prodding at the same time.

Quote:
Kwame Brown (ankle) has begun full-court contract drills and took about 500 shots Monday.

Of those shots that were free throws, what was Brown's percentage?

"About 80," Jackson said. "Out of 500."

Phil regarding Mitch dealing with the stress of trying to put together a good team:
Quote:

"He's good with that," Jackson said. "He doesn't whine or complain about it. I try to be sympathetic about it and tell him he deserves everything he's hearing."
