I know it's only been one game, but watching Webster out there, he looked really comfortable in his new starting role. Is he worth picking up? Our league has a set amount of max moves so i'm limited to picking up players throughout the season. What are your thoughts in Webster? breakout season? _________________

Webster should break out in points and 3's. I wouldn't count on 21 that often, Roy isn't 100% yet and will get more looks when he's ready. Webster should be good for 14-16 a night with a couple 3's.
Webster is ready to break out, so is Ronnie Brewer. I was at the Warrior game last night, Brewer fits the Jazz like a glove. Defensive anticipation is brilliant, he'll be top 5 in the league in steals. He's the real breakout guy imo.
I'm lucky I have both of them in BDG's head-to-head league. |

Webster could break out, but the Blazers do have A LOT of depth at the wing so you have to be careful. Nate is unpredictable too in his week-to-week rotations and substitutions.
The Blazers really are still a year away from having much incentive to really max out the contributions from their roster, so even though Martell should break out, and could if Nate goes against his history, I would think carefully about it, since with Oden out for the season the Blazers will likely look for one more high lottery pick.
Martell should be fairly money for treys throughout the season though, and could very well average a couple a game, but if he got full-time minutes the dude would be a steal in Roto (and H2H too depending on how deep the league and what the rules are...the Sportsline money leagues I play give 2 points for AST, so Webster would be a very risky guard acquisition in those leagues). _________________ ...as I enter your mind, decorate and paint my sign...LA Lakers will be 2008-09 NBA Champions! |

| Nate has yet to trust Outlaw. Even when Travis erupts he still sits the next night. Webster is a legit 3 threat and they need one on the floor. Miles claims he's healthy, but he's miles underground after the alcoholism. Won't see the light of day. Webster is starting at 3 and the only minutes threat is Outlaw. He's a good pick in deep head to head leagues, less so in roto. |

personally... i like travis outlaw better as a breakout candidate.
webster has offence going for him... it's going to be inconsistent throughout the season.
outlaw on the other hand... is a defender... that's his strength.
i think his defense should warrant consistent playing time for outlaw.
outlaw is the better potential.
duo defensive stats, blks/stls like G-wallace.
The dude got one block(1.1), one steal(.9) last season on 22 minutes.
webster is 3s/pts... 3s are nice... pts are easy to come by. _________________

Webster is Portland's best outside threat. They will keep him on the floor to create space for Aldridge to do his thing.
Webster will give you a couple of 3's and points (he'll come down to earth and average around 15-16pts per game), but that's it.
He'll give you empty stats, similar to a lesser version of Wally World 4 years ago... |
