Lakers trade:
LO
Sasha
Seattle Trades:
Wally Szcerbiak
Nick Collison
Seattle makes this trade because they need a PG and Sasha would give them a high energy guy who plays defense. Also, Lamar give them a playmaker. With Durant wanting to score everytime he touches the ball and with the depth that they have at the PF spot, they can afford to trade Nick for LO.
Lakers makes this trade because Wally is potent on offense. He is a 40% 3pt shooter for his career. Exactly what we were looking for when we got Vlade. He plays the SF and the SG spot, so he can backup Kobe as well. He would be the perfect 6th man. I think he is smart enough to pick up the triangle quickly and he plays tough enough on defense that we wouldn't really lose to much with him in the game. I've liked Wally since his T-pup days. Also his contract length is the same as LO's.
Collison is a double double type player. He's not flashy, but he does play hard and he will give you 10 and 10 every night. With him and Turiaf at the PF spot, I think we would be in good shape.
Lakers Lineup:
PG: Fish/Farmar/Crit
SG: Kobe/Wally/Crit
SF: Ariza/Wally/Walton
PF: Collison/Turiaf/Radman
C: Bynum/Kwame/Mihm |

Hell, if Nick Collison and Wally Sczcerbiak played the way they did last night, every single night, I would pull off that trade in a heart beat. But they don't.
Trading Odom will create a void in three aspects of the game: Big man presence, rebounding and distributing. I don't look at Odom as much of a vital piece in scoring, however if there's anyone who can step up and score 20+, he is the only one other than Kobe and Bynum on this team who can do it.
Nick Collison looked good last night, but typically he is a guy who benefits from Ridnour, West or Watson's passess or Wilcox's missess. He can't create for himself like Odom can. I don't think he'll be much help.
Wally will fit in with our team, but where will he find the pt he deserves? If you are thinking of putting him on the bench, think about it this way. Our bench is already No.1 in the league. Trading one of our starters to acquire two more bench players ins't really logical.[/b] |

Looks a bit rich on the Sonics side.
I don't like it from our persective. I think LO is worth more personally, and I don't see how we have minutes for Wally. _________________ All-NBA Challenge: Garcia, perfect for the Sonics(7/22)
