January 22nd will mark the 2-year anniversary of Kobe Bryant's history 81 point game.
The forum has been re-opened (once again) to gather more of your comments and reminisce on the game.

What makes his 81 so special is in the manner in how he got it.
It wasn't a David Robinson its your birthday 71 game.
It wasn't a Shaq its your birthday 61 game.
It was an overcoming a 17 point deficit to win 81 game.
Bravo. _________________

I was left to listen to it on radio. The guys on KLAC went wild. I simply could not believe that happened, absolutely astronomical. Funny is that Kobe could've dropped if he played it smart. He took too many long shots down the stretch, if he got himself to midrange area he could've had 90.
I have the game on DVD and will cherish it. It's history, the best scoring game of all time.

He did it for his Grandma.
I guess it was the first time she saw him play live or something. _________________

This game is becoming more and more legendary as time passes to me. It almost doesn't seem real when I think about it, 81 freaking points. Kobe went for 48 against Seattle and THAT seemed like a lot these days considering he's taken his scoring down. For a while a 40 point game was no big deal when Kobe did it because he did it so often, it was like nothing anymore, where at one time I thought 30 was a lot in a game. I can't even imagine 80 again, that's just ridiculous, Kobe was hot as an NBA player can possibly be. And the crazy thing he, he could have done it twice if he wanted to, he had 62 in 3 against Dallas and sat the 4th, 05/06 was an incredible year for Kobe.
So this one is special now, I've read more about Wilt's 100 recently and I actually think this one was more impressive because they were actually trying to get Wilt 100 and fouling the other team to get the ball back so he could score more among other things. But it was just a great game, I have it on a VHS. He brought us back in a game I thought was over, he brought us back down 18 pretty my by himself. He inspired the team to start playing d though and we just came to life, it was an incredible game that I'll always remember. _________________ Weezy's Weemens

In honor the 2 year's since this happened I'm watching the game on the VHS tape I have it on right now. Something sticks out to me as I do watch. I cannot believe a team that starts Smush Parker, Kwame Brown, and Chris Mihm made the playoffs in the West and almost beat the Suns, I cannot believe it. What Kobe had to work with on that team is worse than what Miami has right now, it's incredible, what Kobe did that year in carrying the team for a lot of the year is one of the greatest single season performances ever IMO. _________________ Weezy's Weemens
