If I'm Mitch, I'm calling the T-pups trying to do whatever I can to pry Mr. Green away. He's young, talented, and he's HUNGRY. I think he could get some serious minutes with the Lakers at the 3 and backing up Kobe. We could really use him, and I think the Lakers should offer Sasha and cash for Green. Mitch might also attempt to pry Wayne Simien away if he can. Just my two cents, don't flame....

I'm pretty sure I could take him one on one, and i'm only 6'2'', 210lbs. If he punches like he shoots free throws, then he'll be missing all day long.

He might be the replacement for everyone's favorite matador defender. Caron Butler. I personally liked Caron but I wasn't mad that they tried to get a big man who they really thought they could develop. Kwame looks pretty bad lately though.

i've been saying this all day i went to trade machine when i heard about this the only way they'd do it is if we give kwame but if we give kwame the only way we can make salaries work is if we take on antoine walker which we would not do.

its impossible hes a free agent next year thats a more likely solution seen as minnesota wont resign him and we worked him out heavily before the draft meaning we were interested then and we'll be intrested this offseason expect

3 years at 4 million for him to come here.

he'll be a laker but through free agency.

once kobe retires a laker a sad day but it will happen at least we'll have a good future instead of dying off like some other franchise after their hall of famer retires.

C:andrew bynum
PF:?????????
SF:trevor ariza
SG:gerald green
PG:javaris crittenton/jordan farmar

we will win 4 more titles with kobe book it especially with bynum being a monster and then win another 3 after he retires.

may sound optimistic but very possible.

The way I look at it. There are 2 types of acquisitions. The first being getting that guy you KNOW will help you. The second being, speculating on talent on the cheap.....this is like playing the stock market.

While people will knock Mr. Green's D and attitude, his upside is still greater than Sasha for example. Groom the kid, if he gets better, his value goes up. If he doesn't "fit" the team, then pawn him off on another team and get something better than like for example, Sasha.

Looking back at the Caron situation. Yes, he didn't fill a need....we had like 10 SF's at the time. Now ask yourself, who has more trade value now? Caron or LO?

]There is another way to get Gerald Green now.
That is a sign and trade scenario. They can book him up for 5 years at $ 4.0 starting and send him over. We can offer L.Walton, who makes the same money and second round pick. That my satisfy Kevin McHale.
What do you think?
Gerald Green has Kobe's agresive stile of play, but is not as good as a defender . That is why, his best position will be at 3 (SF) And, I am sure, Phill will teach the kid to play some D, besides the flashy slam dunks. Gerald will be good investment for the future of this team. Tr.Ariza will be coming from the bench as a member of the second unit.

I too think Gerald would benefit by developing with the Lakers. Defensively not under Phil (who thinks Luke is great defender) It's the Kobe factor. Kobe would have a great influence on this kid. If Green trained like a real professional, he would become more athletic than he already is, that's scary. For the mental part, listening to and having to guard kobe in practice day in day out will do nothing but improve his game. Kevin Martin's improved because he had to go against Artest. IMO Green could turn into something special if he put in the "extra" effort as Bynum has.

And somehow we get rid of Luke for Green , that would be a huge bonus. At this point, neither deserves the 5 mil/year salary but Green has the skills to help this club. He just need to "get it."

Sorry to harp on this but LO played PF as he is now when we had that glut of SF- Caron and trash. It's not Caron vs LO, it's Caron vs Luke- the eventual successor. Caron certainly filled a need, we just got rid of the wrong player. Phil's love for Luke knows no ends, that's the hard truth. I'd still have liked to have kept both Caron and LO or at least have gotten more for Caron. Before this season, LO' value was pretty high, not nearly as much as Caron. LO's trade value now is still no joke as compared to Kwame.
