I have a friend of my dads who works in the front office for the Los Angeles Clippers organization. Please take this as a RUMOR, and please note that RUMORS often ended up not going through. I am only passing 3rd handed acquired information. Again, please take this with a grain of salt.
With that prefaced, I would like to state that according to my source the Clippers are"very annamored" of Los Angeles Lakers point guard Jordan Farmar, and they believe he has the makings of a top 10 point guard in this league. I assume this would be a summer deal, just from some of the terminology that was conveyed from the Clippers side. The Clippers are reportedly asking for Jordan Farmar and Chris Mihm(expiring K next year) for Shaun Livingston and the rights to swap draft picks in June. The Clippers reportedly are nervous about how well Livingston will be after his surgery, and don't want to take a gamble on him in 2008-2009.
Had Livingston not gotten that crazy injury, this wouldn't even be up for debate right now. The idea of Livingston(who should seriously consider start ing Kobe's 666 workout routine for his body's sake) would be a huge gamble. However, the Lakers are all to familar with how gambles have paid off. Andrew Bynum big, Kwame Brown...not so much. The Lakers would still have Derek Fisher, and the promising young guard in Javaris Crittenton, along with Turiaf and Bynum, to build this team around.
What do you think....would you do it?
To Clippers:
G-Jordan Farmar
C-Chris Mihm
To Lakers:
G-Shaun Livingston

I don't know why your
Yes, we lose Farmar....I agree. However, he is going to command 7 -10million a year once his contract is up. Livingston was starting to show how incredible he was, and then he got injured. He will come cheap, so I don't understand the problem. Not to mention, we get to swap draft picks with the Clippers as long as it isn't in the top 5. A #6 pick could yield a Donte Greene would would be amazing for this team with his great defense/passing and rebounding.
Its a gamble....I agree. However, we have Fisher and Crittenton. This gamble could pay off bigtime.
Livingston is a high character kid(much like Bynum). The potential of having a 22 year old 6-7 point guard, and a 7-1 20 year old center , who will probably be a top 5 player in 2 years time, is to good to pass up.
Then add Donte Greene into the mix

| I dont understand. Farmar now is playing better than livingston ever did. Unless there is some increadible PF we can nab with the swap then I dont see why we do it. Im not sold AT ALL on Critt or Livingston yet. |

It isn't unlikely that the Clippers end up in the top 5...and if the pick is protected, it makes ABSOLUTELY no sense...
next year with Maggette, Kaman, Brand, Farmar and so on they will be somehwere within 10-20 in the draft.
Livingston is never gonna be anything special anymore. He never showed how unbelievable he was because he never was unbelievable. He was a guard that can't hit a J to save his life. Sure some great passing ability and good length on defense but thats it. He is very injuryprone as well.
BTW Mihm has a no-trade clause...
I don't want to say you are lying but your source probably...anyway, it makes no sense and it 100% wont happen. _________________

I'm sure the Clippers would love that. The Lakers would laugh in their face. I want nothing to do with Livingston. _________________

This deal makes no sense.
Trade a healthy and productive player for a guy who had knee surgery? |

This makes absolutley NO sense. Even at his healthiest, Livingston never showed he had Farmar's skills. And the position swap in the draft barely sweetens the deal.
Of all the trade ideas and "rumors" I've read in this forum, this is the most nonsensical. _________________
