I have a problem...

Quote:
Name: turn-728x90.js
Type: JScript Script File, 440 bytes
From: www.clublakers.com

Everytime I click on something on CL, this popup comes up. Apparently my computer thinks it's a risk, and it's getting really annoying.

I want to know whether I should download this or if it's a virus. Can someone help me out?

I'm not 100% sure but I think that's from an ad? Do you use AdBlock?

Same thing for me.

Have no idea what this is and this is the only site that I visit that asks me to download this file.

Does anybody else get this?

It's an ad. I saved it and scanned it, no virus. I'm not sure what ad, but that's what it is.

No, should I?

Real, do you know any way I can get rid of it without downloading it?

If you use Firefox you should be using the AdBlock Plus extension. Unless you really enjoy seeing ads all over that is. mhihi

Get it
here.

I also use NoScript for safety.

I've contacted commish about it ... he just installed new ad codes, so I think they might be causing this annoyance.

It's an ad from http://www.turn.com. If it's giving you problems, just block it with an ad blocker. It's nothing harmful though.

Code:
var dz=document;
dz.writeln("<!-- Turn Ad Code -->");
dz.writeln("<script type=\"text/javascript\">");
dz.writeln("  turn_ad_publisher = 2521061;");
dz.writeln("  turn_ad_publisher_ad_code = 2523530;");
dz.writeln("  turn_ad_layout = \"728x90\";");
dz.writeln("  turn_ad_publisher_channel = 2523528;");
dz.writeln("<\/script>");
dz.writeln("<script type=\"text/javascript\" src=\"http://ad.turn.com/server/ad_call.js\"><\/script>");

I HAVE to use IE because my Firefox doesn't work for some reason so I too am getting this. It's not a pop up, it's a banner at the top that says 'ad was blocked', but I imagine for those that don't have it this is annoying.

I'm at work and I don't have the option of using another browser. So this is quite the annoyance.

Ok, this should be repaired now, but may take a hot minute to update live.

Please holler back here if anyone continues to find this throughout the day.

On every page that I go to on CL it tries to download some file to my computer.

Pretty annoying.

This is not the first time this happens but the mods have usually benn quick to fix this.

Ok, the revision is implemented, but it may take a few minutes to kick in on the remote server.

I'm totally going to get a bad report card this month... man3

Ah HA! I think I finally found a permanent fix for this problem. I just implemented it... forgive me in advance it I'm wrong, but I don't think we'll get any errors for that any more.

...and yes, I'll check back in the morning to make sure all is good. Holler right here if you see any more javascript warnings in your browser.
