| I'd consider it, but only if he committed for a reasonable amount for a few years. Otherwise, basically you lose Crittenton and Kwame for nothing. Kwame might resign on the cheap. |

yeah, make him sign like a 2 year deal or something first. If you really think about it, if we make this trade and Lamar shows he still doesn't fit, we trade him in the summer for a good PF since his contract will be a expiring one _________________

I'd even throw in a 1st as well if I knew Artest would stay.
Kwame, 1st, Crittenton
PG- Fisher
SG- Bryant
SF- Artest
PF- Odom
C- Bynum
I'd be so unbelievably excited if that trade happened. Instead of Luke posting up it's Ron Artest at 248 lbs posting up on some skinny as SFs.
The next time LeBron tries to abuse us, he'll pay for it badly....
That team right there can dismantle the NBA. |

| The Kings won't trade with us so that idea died right there. |

Stop writing that as if it's the law or something. It's based on an owner's preference last year for a player who could have rebounded.
There's been no general outright statement that the Kings won't trade with us. If Pheonix considered it, I'm sure the Kings will too. |

| Even if the Kings decide to trade Artest to us, it's going to cost more than Kwame, Crittenton, and a 1st Rounder. Every trade starts with Odom or no deal........period. |

And why would that be exactly?
They're going to trade him, otherwise they're morons. If nobody offers anything, he's ours for the taking. |

They have no reason to trade him. If they do anything, it's going to be during the summer.
Also, that trade offer is horrible for the Kings. I'm sure there are better offers than the proposed one. |

Horrible for the Kings? How is it horrible for the Kings. He said he'd opt out, it's an expiring contract for all intensive purposes, I have no idea what you're talking about.
Are you asserting that they'll do a sign and trade? Why?
He'll bring in 9m or so that way and some half assed player.
Instead of that they can get two first round picks basically for him. |

Mitch traded Coran Butler+ for Kwame Brown. Artest's value is about equal to C.Butlers or slightly less due to his negative baggage. the Kings would benefit from a trade of Kwame Brown 2008 1st + 2nd + 2009 2nd rd picks for Ron Artest in the following ways;
! )Its most likely the BEST deal possible for them...MORE than they used to get him.
2)they get young players who with rookie contracts take them under the cap
3)They get aan EXtra 1.5 million to load onto the 1st yr to sign a free agent
4) They get something for whatg is VERY likely going top be nothing as Artest will LIKELY sign elsewhere this summer
5)Kwame Brown would easily be the most athletic big on that roster...perhaps coach Theus can get into his head and get him to actually PLAY! This would make the trade a HUGE bargan for the Kings.
6)the Kings would LOVE to stick it to the Lakers IF Ron signed elsewhere AFTer the lakers give them 3 good draft picks and extra cap room.
7)the Kings would love even MORe if Ron caused lockerroom distractions THEN decided to sign with the knicks or resign with the Kings AFTER disrupting the Lakers and coosting them 3 good picks to do so.
now, someone saaid any laker trade would require odom....this is just NOt TRuE! in the 1st place, odom makes far too much for the kings who are over the cap to work out a deal for Artest.
Actually a Kwame brown and 2008 1st and 2nd +2009 2nd rd pick for Ron Artest is a much bigger risk for the Lakers than for the Kings. the Kings. |
