|
|
ESPN 1st and 10 had an interesting idea today. They offered the idea of an all-star game like the NHL. USA vs. The World, meaning all the national born players vs. the foreign born players. I think this would be interesting to watch, but some players would make it on the World team that deserve it, and there would be more players from the USA that fans would like to see. Imagine if you are a die hard Hawks fan and want to see Joe Johnson on there....no chance. This got me thinking of who would make each team this year. The teams would be interesting to watch play.
World:
Nash/Parker
Ginobili
Andrei Kirilenko/Luol Deng
Dirk/Pau/
Yao/Okur/Andris Biedrins
I'm brain freezing here, I can't really think of any more quality gaurds.
USA:
There are too many, but it should basically be the USA team with some changes due to their seasons: The USA starting lineup with KG Duncan Kaman and Ray Allen on there instead of some other peices. _________________ Can't mess with a squad that got screwed out of 1 game in the finals and was 2 games away (technically should have been 1 game away) from an NBA title THAT ADDS THIS in 08-09

It's been mentioned numerous times and yes, its a good idea. Shake things up a big. All-star weekend is getting stale. _________________

Calderon deserves a spot, and Hedo over Deng _________________ Can't mess with a squad that got screwed out of 1 game in the finals and was 2 games away (technically should have been 1 game away) from an NBA title THAT ADDS THIS in 08-09

The United States would kill any international team year-in, year-out. I honestly think the talent-gap between the two is too huge for this to work. If you want to shake things up, however - go for it. It's not going to hurt the NBA in anyway. The All-Star game is in all in good fun. _________________

It's the NBA all star game. Not fiba. Why would we make a whole other team? And to be fair why wouldn't each country get it's own team? Dumb idea to me. _________________

Yes, like at the Olympics and the World Championship
I think USA vs The World is not a good idea, prefer the traditional East vs West. |
