Im glad we lost...So this lakers team can realize they aren't the ish. Id rather have lost this game and started a new winning streak playing those 4 playoff contenders.

man 3 controversy calls.

1. when sasha hit the three, the refs only counted as a two. i would like to see the replay of that.

2. the lakers final points. pau definetely got fouled. shoulve been an and 1

3. didnt sasha get pushed by martin which made udrith trip? i know sasha flops a lot but it looked like martin pushed him a lil bit.

I have no problem with Kobe's game today....he didn't press things, and played through the team. It's his teammates that failed to get him the ball in critical moments.

I don't even have a problem with the last play...it was executed well, Kobe just missed a shot he is very capable of making.

Kobe can attack the rim just fine... do you really think the Kings are going to take any chances? they aren't going to foul Kobe, period.

The way the ref is calling the game tonight, Kobe has no chance of getting the shot off without getting hacked while the refs take a nap at courtside.

And please, let's not get carried away. We lost this game because of terrible defense in the first half. They only allowed 43 points in the second half, why can't they do the same thing in the first half? That's just effortless and the whole team should be embarassed by themselves.

Hawes and Moore combined for 28, that's a lot but I think we still could have won had they not let Beno go ape-crap. And Pau was often the last line of defense against Beno (25), Garcia (15), and Martin (21). The perimeter defense was embarrassing. We desperately needed Trevor out there.

If you think the Lakers will have a winning streak against those four teams I want whatever drugs you are using.

LA doesn't have a prayer in hell to go 4-0 against those teams. Absolutely impossible. And I'd put money on that.

I never blamed this loss on Kobe.

Read what I'm typing people, all I've said is that Kobe didn't have to settle for an impossible shot.

otherwise, yes, I agree that defense lost this game.

It was a full court break....there was plenty of space and time to give up the rock.

But we know Sasha....he never gives up the rock. Just watch him bring the ball upcourt....he looks straight ahead and never looks around for guys filling the lane.

Particularly amusing was the sequence from the Clipper game where both he and Farmar were racing for an upcourt pass and Farmar beat him to it and then dunked. Sasha's body language on that play disturbed me.

no doubt the perimeter D was poor, no one can argue that, but i also place it on pau and lamar for not trapping

at least in the last few minutes of the previous game, they denied passing lanes and picked up the D, not so much this time

moore especially, but hawes as well just played harder than our big guys

i just feel as a teammate if you see your PG or SG getting scorched, you can't just continue to not trap or change up the looks

he was in front of kobe to begin with, so you don't make that pass backwards.

it was more or less a 2 on 2 break, i'm pretty sure the confines were much tighter than you remember, check it on on DVR if you have it

I agree. I don't think Kobe should take every last shot. Give someone else a chance (except Odom). But we all know it'll get hectic here if someone else misses that shot. "Why didn't Kobe get that last shot?!?!?"

Without Bynum and Ariza the Lakers are just not a good enough defensive team to get to the Finals.

We are a very good regular season team that's exciting just like the Phoenix Suns the last 3 years. But get bounced in the playoffs.

We need Ariza and Bynum to be 100% healthy

Sasha was in a tough position on that play. The ran from left of the court to the middle not knowing Kobe was beside him even further to the left. The defender was pretty close to both Sasha & Kobe. Sasha had no choice but to drive & try to score. He didn't.

That's another thing that separates the Spurs from the Lakers. They have three clutch players that can and have taken the final shot in a game. We only have one closer which is very discouraging considering everyone knows who to guard.

I still can't believe we lost to the Queens at home...how is that possible? how can you give up 114 points to the Queens?

I can't get it out of my system...

Loss goes to variety of factors as usual:

1. Lakers defense....although they tightened things up admirably in the second half. Down the stretch though...too many easy looks for the Queens.

2. Refs: First the no-call on Pau's last basket (should have been an And-1)...and they did with a freaking rookie on him. Hawes got another Pau hack earlier get turned into a jump ball. LOL. And then of course the bailout freethrows with 4 secs to go. I thought the refs weren't supposed to blow the whistle at the end?

3. Sasha....yeah he hit some jumpers. But down the stretch, he gets the loose ball, runs the break, has Kobe running it with him, and decides to ignore him. Fine, you're going to ignore the best freaking finisher in the game, at least make the basket.... mad1

Kray - right on the money post!! So true all the way.

Ultimately it was the D that really killed us. We just could not turn the screws and get the stops we needed. We did somewhat - we got back in the game as you said, but just too many scores by the Kings, especially guys like Moore and Udrih down the stretch. As mentioned Artest wasn't even in there and it wasn't Martin killing us.

Completely frustrating to lose this one, but the good news is we're still on top (even though it would have been great to get a little space from SA), and while a loss is a loss, we battled back and lost by one, not a large margin. If the Kings had blown us out by 30 then I would be worried, but if you notice our losses in general since we got Pau have been under 10 points.

We should have come in with better overall presence considering SA's loss to the Suns, but . . . as said by Kray and others, there was a missing and one for Pau that should have given us an opportunity for a tie and the last call against Sasha was weak. It wasn't a tripping foul. Sasha was laid out on the ground from the screen and Udrih ran him over. Not a foul. Udrih created all the contact. That's a no call. Or an offensive foul on the screener.

with the 4 game road trip coming up I can see us losing at least a couple...that loss against Sacramento was really unnecessary and will make it a lot tougher now
