Why?
Does the Rose Garden contain the most covert anti-Laker equipment?
Are they still bitter from way back 2000 so they reserve their games of their lives versus the Lakers?
I want to know why. Cause they are just the Blazers. And we should beat them for (REMOVED)'s sake.

I don't know, but history shows lakers have had tons of trouble in this building. But I think they will make a run and win this game. _________________ There are so many emotions at the end of the season, nobody likes to talk about it. Gameday?
It has nothing to do with the building, as Stu said. It's the fact that the Blazers are always pumped to play us and their relentless pick and roll always hurts us. Our PnR defense is embarassing without Drew.
Gonna take some heavy d to win this game. Looks improbable the way both teams are currently playing. _________________ I drank a fifth of vodka, dare me to drive?

No it's not gameday. It's been a Laker malaise since what, 2003? the 90's? _________________ It's the length of one day. One half. One shot clock. This number is my promise to dominate every moment. |

Just great. We allow 58 against a Portland team that has only 75-80 pct maximum capacity than our team. _________________ It's the length of one day. One half. One shot clock. This number is my promise to dominate every moment. |

Has nothing to do with the building in this game. Blazers are just out-hustling and out-smarting L.A.
At times, this team looks so bloody undisciplined it's not even close to funny. For all the things he brings as a head coach, Phil's team ain't even close to disciplined and, at time, plays just downright stupid ball.
Their starting center has a busted hand. The gameplan should be Gasol and LO abusing 'em in the paint every trip down. Doesn't take a bloody rocket scientist to figure that out.
It ain't the building, it's the Lakers! _________________ B. Diddy on Drew: "That boy's gonna be a beast.'' |

I'll unjinx it. We'll lose by 20!.
But seriously though; what is it with losing to teams we should be beating. Feels like last season all over again. _________________

Because we play stupid ball. We have Gasol and Odom, 2 big guy, they have Aldridge as their biggest guy... and what do the Lakers do? Watch Kobe take fadaways. Wonderful. _________________

The 2 losses to the Grizz and Cats were absolute embarrasment.
I personally don't think this team is ready for prime time yet. Prime time team don't lose to scrub teams consecutively on your own floor.
No interior defense, no ring. _________________

This has been going on for years before we even drafted Drew. We just play awful in that building for some reason _________________ http://youtube.com/watch?v=WLZ3uDDAP0c

frustrating watching this team. Famar came in the Lakers picked it up and got the 16 pts deficit down to 6 in a couple minutes or so, and then gave it all back in 2 minutes.
Where's the defense? Where are you PJ? Start coaching your players!
Lakers wanna contend for the title??? This game is over. Pathetic. _________________

We really don't play that badly from what I'm seeing, they just play superhuman, they make every freaking shot. This is their championship and they take it serious and we don't. _________________ Weezy's Weemens

Match ups...for a while they have had the pieces that give our team the fits.
Long limbed, quick moving players that can all shoot the basketball. We can never regulate the boards because of their all around size and we dont play defense well enough to stop their driving or drive and kick.
Games against Portland really highlight the loss of Ariza and Bynum because they are the only 2 players that can truly match up against them and succeed. |

- Refs
- We don't match their energy
- They play like its game 7 of the NBA finals
- one of the loudest arenas in the league and we get intimidated (and so do the refs) _________________ MDI's Mamacitas

Portland really has no weaknesses.
They should have an anchor in Oden.
They have a 2 way 4 that can play in the post and can play from the free throw line extended in Aldridge.
They have an athletically gifted 3 in Outlaw.
They have a very good 2 in Roy.
They have a very deep PG rotation with Blake and Jack, but more importantly they both can play defense.
Then you take into account their depth with Webster, Frye, Jones, Pryz.
Very good front-line and a very deep back court.
If they show that they can win, you know Paul Allen will fork over the cash to keep them intact.
LA set themselves up for the future and are a contender today, but for years to come, I think this Portland team will be a thorn in our side.
Great game by the Blazers tonight and our lack of on man defense, defensive rotations and securing our defensive boards is what let us down tonight.
Portland totally earned this W. Lakers blew a golden opportunity tonight. I think we will end up with the number 2 seed now, which isn't entirely a bad thing. _________________

I am not paranoid or conspiracy theorist but i swear we had at least 5 shots go in n out on us as if the rim had been tionkered with to not give any roll on the Lakers side. Still we always suck at Portland and their players/fans basically live to beat us thats their only purpose in this league. _________________

Blazers are really talented, and they have our number. Just like the Rockets always had MJ and the Bull's number in the 90's.
But I hate to see such a talented squad be corrupted by unethical tactics. I've posted this before: NATE SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF HIMSELF.
I can imagine practices: "Hold him! Grab him! Push him! Let me deal with the refs!" _________________ Vi Veri Vniversum Vivus Vici |

Yet they've lost 39 games...many to teams which are clearly inferior to the Lakers.
What's missing? What are these other teams doing that the Lakers aren't. SA held them to 65 pts (with Roy) on Sunday. I'm not saying we could play SA level defense, but what did they do that we couldn't?
If I had an explanation, I'd say that the Blazers actually try against us....and play their hearts out. _________________ Basketball isn't part of life, it is life.
