what do the lakers need to win back to back championships?????? They have a shooter (Sasha), a defender (Ariza), a blocker (Bynum+Pau), and a star for the team to rotate around (KB24).
In my opinion they need a good all around point guard in his prime. Maybe Monta Ellis or Devin Harris. Or some players who have already proved themselves as future stars like Rajon Rondo, and T.J. Ford.
All of these options would be hard to recieve, but the Lakers need more than just a shooting Point guard who only averages 2 assists per fame (Fisher). I don't have anything against him, but he would work better as a reserve. Since he has a no-trade clause, we would probably have to keep him and let go of Farmar, our future. My point is that all the other people listed above are young also. Imagine how much better they could get with Phil Jackson as their coach. Imagine a 4th star on the Lakers.
Remember the Pistons back in 2004? The Lakers need to be like them. No soft spots no weaknesses.
Pistons in '04 Lakers right now
PG- Chauncey Billups PG- Derek Fisher
SG- Rip Hamilton SG- Kobe Bryant
SF- Tayshaun Prince SF- Lamar Odom
PF- Rasheed Wallace PF- Pau Gasol
C- Big Ben C- Andrew Bynum
The only thing keeping the lakers from a championship in my opinion is a young star for a PG.
What do you guys think??? |

Calderon is better than Ford, at least he is a real PG.
He would get at least 10 assists per night. |

It depends if they will keep Ford or not. |

They would be crazy to go with Ford over Calderon. I actually like TJ Ford, it's just Calderon is simply better. TJ Ford could be deadly in a run n gun offense, they could get a good trade for him. The only way the Raptops would part with Calderon is if we came out with a crazy trade offer. _________________ "I'll do whatever it takes to win games, whether it's sitting on a bench waving a towel, handing a cup of water to a teammate, or hitting the game-winning shot. Devin Harris would be great, but how do we get him? Nets basically traded Kidd for him, so we'd have to pay a hefty price if we want to lay our hands on him.
I don't know, I'll give Farmar, Luke, picks, even Ariza!
Bynum
Gasol
Odom
Kobe
Harris
would be SICK
Rajon Rondo is an OUTSTANDING defender, but not Phil's type. too small, bad shooting. |

We can afford Harris at all, even if we could trade for him for cheap Buss would pass. |
