He's 17 (was born in 1990) and is playing in ACB (spanish national league, best world's league after NBA) since he was 14. He is 1'92, plays as guard and has very long arms. Past year he was the best in steals per game in ACB and Euroleague (competition of best Europe teams).
His team (DKV Joventut, where plays Rudy Fernandez too) has just won the "Copa del Rey" (8 teams competition, considered best short competition of Europe) just one hour ago.
In the final of "cadete" (players of 14 and 15) European Tourney of 2005, he had 51 points, 24 rebounds, 12 assists and 7 steals. Spain won. The whole match is in Youtube in 13 parts with the name España vs Rusia - Final Europeo Sub16.
This season, he averages 16'8 of efficiency (the 6th in ACB), 3'45 assists (the 11th), 2'50 steals (the 1st) and 12'5 points, in 24 minutes per game.
One game he was national MVP of the week -> http://es.youtube.com/watch?v=i5de_TkPHRg
Ricky Rubio mix (was made in september of 2007, so there aren't plays of this season, where he is playing his best)-> http://es.youtube.com/watch?v=KqLGzkhRHN8&feature=related |

Well, this guy is going to astonish some people around here.
I've seen him grow for the last 3 years (he is playing like a pro since he was 14!!!, yes he is THAT good), and it looks like the sky is his limit.
His defense is awesome, knows the game and is developing a really interesting shoot. I can't wait for him to get old enough to be drafted. |

^^^ Same here. I've also read up on a lot of scouting reports on him.
As well as first hand impressions, & evauluations from many Spaniards who watch him play more than any of us & I'm convinced through everything I've read and seen. Sky's the limit for this guy. He will be a special one if he keeps it up. _________________ .

Yes, he's EXTREMELY talented! First time I saw him play he was about 14 or 15 years and was playing in Euroleague! Bad news he'll be gone very early in the draft. So no need to worry - it's not Lakers related |

He is great. He is very young and he is playing a lot of minutes. And the best point (in my opinion), he dominated all the championships with people of his age, if you see that in a player of for example 7´0´´ feet that it is normal because of the body, but when you are so dominant because of the talent... that it is great. Maybe since Drazen Petrovic and Arvydas Sabonis there wasn´t a player in Europe so dominant between the people of his age.
Even he has a great coach, Aíto G-Reneses, a coach who works a lot with young people and who is a winner.
Ricky Rubio is a fantastic player, I would love to see him in purple & gold in the future. He is a great ball-handling, a great passer and a great scorer... all talent. |
