Why would Bynum and Gasol not workout? I see no reason Gasol can't play PF and we know Bynum can play C. The only questionmark I think is can Lamar fit in at SF with Gasol and Bynum? Gasol can play C or PF. No player learns the triangle like Gasol did in that short period.

Its not that Bynum and Gasol can't workout. Bynum, Gasol and Odom can't workout. All 3 do their best work down low. Its allows for little seperation on the floor. They need a Vlad, Walton or someone of that ilk to space the floor.

wats wrong with having 3 low post threats. this is mismatch city we r talkin bout it was already a problem for teams to guard kobe now we have 3 low post scorers. this forces teams to play their big lineup, but wat other frontline can stop us

He has shown that he is progressing rapidly and can be a guy that the Lakers are building around in the future.

He is the face of the franchise, after Kobe.

He has proven himself and was getting to be on an all-star level before getting injured.

Beasley is a Power Forward that used his size to dominate in college. That won't happen in the NBA. I don't think he will be a star. He will be a very good piece of a good team someday, but no where near a star.

BESIDES, BEASLEY IS UNPROVEN, HASN'T PLAYED A MINUTE IN THE NBA.

BYNUM has proved himself worthy and can be ready NOW. Beasley would still be a rookie trying to figure things out.

Besides, who would take Beasley over AB? NOBODY.

The future is set with this team with Farmar and AB. They are the centerpieces for us.

The future will hopefully be

Jordan, Sasha, Trevor, Ronnie, and AB.

that is still one very good team.

Well, nice try...but you've only got 1 of the 2 right. FARMAR IS NOT A CENTERPIECE FOR US.

Where and why and how did you come to that conclusion??? man10

I WAS REFERING TO MICHAEL BEASLEY AS THE GOOD PLAYER ON A GOOD TEAM in the future....not bynum....BYNUM WILL BE A SUPERSTAR.

Farmar and Bynum are our centerpieces.

Bynum for obvious reasons....Farmar because he has star potential. He has grown tremendously. I can give you many reasons why....

the question is....HOW DO YOU NOT BELIEVE HE WON'T BE A CENTER PIECE FOR US along with AB. You are one of those people that give in to all hype and only hype.

Jordan has gone under the radar but look how much he has improved. He has the most potential along with Bynum.

The future is set up for those 2 to be the stars of our team.

after phil is gone, Farmar will emerge. The triangle is no place for a PG, and Farmar's game is limited here.

We need Drew due to his inside presence both on offense and defense. Remember that bloody Grizz game when he fell down? When he was on the court grizz were a shooting team, but when he got injured they started to drive to the basket. Let's face it: players are afraid of his power and length. We need him to be a true dominant team.

Listen I'm sure everyone is very happy about the success of the club right now, but looking to the future i'm not sure bynum and gasol can gel together ( both have the center "game"). So with that said would you guys be open to trading Bynum for the 1st pick overall and drafting beasley who I think would fit in perfectly with gasols post game. just Imagen how good we would be with gasol 7' 260
beasley 6'10 240
odom 6'10 235
bryant 6'6 220
fish/farmar
that is a very talented, big & long group.

So you're saying that group would be more talented, bigger, AND longer than having Bynum? lol. I think you're forgetting that Bynum is a 7 footer with a monster wingspan.

The only way i'll take an unproven rookie is if he can average 3-4+ blocks per game, play incredible D, can catch nearly ever lob pass, can grab rebounds, and have a legit post game. man1

VOTEKobe2008, the original poster on this thread is who said Bynum and Gasol might not gel. I was only responding to the first post in this thread. As I said. I see no reason for those 2 not to gel if Bynum gets healthy.

Classic knee-jerk reaction. Lakers are winning games therefore Gasol should remain a C. Just wait for the change of tune if and when the Lakers get a beatdown fro a team exposing Gasol's weaknesses at the center spot.

Gasol is not a C and I will be shocked if the Lakers end up winning the trophy this year with him as a C. Absolutely shocked.

What makes you think we could even get the #1 pick for Bynum?

The only thing that worries me a little about moving Lamar to SF is the outside shot. Vlad is a nice threat on the perimeter, I think Lamar would have to work on his 3 ball.

Lamar is the only real hitch in the new front line. He's never done well at SF for the Lakers in the past and I don't believe he'll be any better this time around. Lamar is best close to the basket, but Gasol and Bynum are already there and Lamar isn't very good on the perimeter. Triple post threats can be beaten by packing the paint. Better to have a guy like Walton or Vlad to complement Kobe and spread the floor space around the primary post players.

bynum is going to be a beast when he comes back, no need to worry. Pau is a natural power forward in any event.
