Nah, I would have kept Kobe in the game, but let Odom, Fisher, and Gasol take over on offense. The reason why I would have kept Kobe in the game is because I don't trust Sasha and Farmar is the new Smush.
Kobe is a warrior and he wants to play... I would still take an injured Kobe over Sasha and Farmar.
Lakers win game 5 and 6. |
Sasha has done nothing but prove himself all season. You can sit Kobe and Sasha will perform.
Having Kobe on the floor was hurting the team because he was never ever going to allow himself to be a decoy. We all know that by now.
Phil Jackson once again allowed the game to pass him by and he should have shown that he is the Coach and not the ''advisor''. |

Jazz fans should be lucky they outplayed us in game 3 and only won by 5. We had an injured MVP and they need OT to beat us. The Jazz are not a dominating team just a good, lucky team!!!
THE JAZZ WILL BE BLOWN OUT IN GAME 5!!!

There you go. Its up to phil to coach the team and take Kobe out.
I would have taken him out when we were down by 2 and he went to his knees in pain.

I don't think taking Kobe out is the answer. Do that & PJ will be blame for taking out the MVP. |

| There's criticizing Kobe for a bad game, but to say we lost the game because of him is simply ignorant. Of all the crap (self-inflicted and otherwise) that cost us the game, to focus on Kobe is ridiculous. He is not blameless, but he's not the worst offender by a long shot. |

Exactly. If Sasha had been the one taking those same shots in ISOLATIONS, who do you blame? Sasha or Phil. Use your heads, people. |
Comparing Sasha's & Kobe's ball IQ is silly. |

I am. As an MVP & captain of this team, he should've recognize his jumper isn't going in. Taking bad shots after bad shots while Odom & Fish didn't even touch the ball. WTF was he thinking?
I'm literally sick to my stomach right now. |
Okay, so why did they keep putting the ball in his hands knowing he's hurt? If the team is expecting him to deliver and putting him in that position, does he really have a choice? The team as a whole made terrible decisions such as the ones Kobe did in overtime. Had they not done that, we would've been in a position to win the game in REGULATION. |
I know Kobe is hurt & all. Jumpshots are easy to take when you're injured, but I still thought Kobe had enough to take it to the hole. Finish there or kick it out. ISO jumpshots sucks when they're aren't falling. No one else is getting a chance to touch the ball. |
Of course they aren't getting a chance to touch the ball. How many times do you see a team put a player in an isolation and he pass out every time? If that's the case, why even put him in it? _________________ "We play for one thing and one thing only, and that's championships."-Kobe Bryant

This is one of the most painful losses i have ever experienced. Ever. One can argue that if we had shot the free throws as usual, we would have won this game in the regular time. Kobe made bad decisions in the overtime but those who say that he played a terrible game, please watch the match again. He was the guy who got Fisher and Gasol good looks throughout the game. Also, i'm impressed the way Odom performed today. Props to him, he was the warrior.
As for the fifth game, with a healthy Mr. Bryant, i'm almost sure we will get a not-so-difficult win. But Fisher has to avoid foul problem. And play Sasha 30 minutes. _________________ Verba volant, scripta manent.

I came to the board expecting some love for the team, and I find fans fighting fans instead.
Today is a day to be proud of the guys. They tried hard. Kobe could hardly run, but he tried, Fisher and his incredible threes, Pau and Odom with their double doubles, an OT, the refferees allowing the Jazz to push, kick, cry, shout... the guys were totally exhausted, Kobe, Odom and Pau played +45 minutes...
There was no way we could win this game, it would be a miracle... It will be way different in the Staples, there the officiating is not going to allow Utah to play his tricky game. |

Painful loss, this one.
What hurts the most is that FT percentage, terrible. Even a bad percentage would've won us the game, but this was way past bad. I guess you don't really deserve to win if you barely make half your free throws.
Anyway, happy that the Lakers are back home now.
Let's make it a six-game series, ending it in their house. Jazz fans will love it.
PS: I was wondering, wouldn't it be a good idea if Lamar started shooting free throws underhand? Get some lessons from Rick Barry this offseason. He just looks uneasy at the line right now. |

i know hes hurt, but you gotta adjust and move the ball around |
Pretty much it right there. I give a lot of credit for Kobe playing through the pain. What a warrior. But you gotta trust your team at that point. Stop taking ISO jumpers. If you're gonna shoot, take it to the hole. Read the defense & kick it out to a shooter if you have to. But clearly taking jumpers when it's not falling (1-9 3pt attempts) when you're hurt is not an excuse. It kills the momentum of your teammate. It's not hating. Too many people here won't put Kobe accountable for a bad OT game.
Let's do hope they take game 5. Go Lakers. |

i did watch the actual game and you cant JUDGE A WHOLE GAME just on OT . KB24 had a bad OT but he still scored 33 points 10 rebound and 8 assists . where as Farmer and and Vlad 2 points for the whole game . so now did u watch the whole game of just the box scores . or just the bash KB bandwagon |

Sorry I didn't make myself clear. I can understand Sasha taking ill advised shots. You can blame PJ there for having him in. But you can't blame PJ for having Kobe in. He's SUPPOSE to be in for the clutch moments. But I didn't expect him to take ISO jumpshots when he's clearly in pain. Kobe could've easily tell Pau, Odom & Fish to take over for him. I would've respected him for that.
Oh well, it's a 3 game serie now. Hope Kobe gets better soon. We'll need him
Go Lakers. |
