They look like a completely different team since the playoffs have started.

Can they upset one of the big dogs? They have Boston in the next round (most likely), and I was just wondering, do you think they have ANY chance? I mean, they DID take down Detroit last season.

Personally, I think they can make it a series if they play well, but still, they have no shot.

Yeah, I'll be rooting for the Cavs against the Celts. The way they're playing now they could take a minimum of 2 from the Celtics and if LBJ gets super hot they could steal the series.

If the C's don't even make it out of the first round they might as well put the city of Boston on suicide alert. First the SB and then that. man10

Outside of the Lakers, I always root for the underdog. However, since the Lakers are involved, I'm rooting more for a LA-Boston series.

I would hope that the Cavs can at least stretch it to 7 games so that we will be treated with a very exciting sudden death scenario.

But in the end, I would much rather prefer a dish of revenge in either facing Detroit (2004 left a bad taste in my mouth) or Boston (80s rivalry reboot). But I personally prefer the Celts.

As for the Cavs, they really did stumble into the playoffs, but I sincerely believe that their midseason trade was a good trade for them. They should get rid of Washington fairly easily and should give the Celts a very hard fought series.

It depends on the Cavs 6th, 7th, and 8th man and I'm not talking about the ones on their bench.

usually i'd agree with this... but Boston is the ONLY team i really fear without Bynum.. i know you are thining positive... but it WOULD BE WORSE.. to LOSE to the Celtics in the FINALS... i would [Swearing is not permitted at Clublakers. as for detroit.. that is the matchup i want... REVENGE for 2004... you know kobe jasnt forgotten... also.. it would show we can beat the Pistons WITHOUT Shaq.. so a double eff you triple if you count that the C's dont even get to sniff the Finals... so thats how i see it

I would love to see the Cavs beat up on the Celtics. Still not sure they would advance, but Lebron is something.....

If we get to the finals, first of all, I'll take it. Once we are there, I'll worry about who we got.

I just think Washington doesn't have the grit for the playoffs..

Cavs are not a good team as proven all year but Washington makes them look good.

Completely agree. This is definitely more of Washington making the Cavs look good, although you can't underestimate the playoff experience of the Cavs.

Cleveland will probably take the series with Washington barring any injuries or the Wiz suddenly getting hot for 4-5 games straight. I still don't think they can beat Boston in a 7 game series, even despite them winning the regular season series. Boston will find a way to stop or at least slow down LeBron given their extremely consistent defense, and with their offense regularly scoring more than 100+ pts a game I think the Cavs will be hard pressed to win 4 out of 7.

^^ Washington has been disappointing thus far, after all that talk from DeShawn and Gil, booo. I'll admit I haven't been watching this series, but 30 points, yikes. I'll definitely root for the Cavaliers against the Celtics, but I'm not giving up on the Hawks just yet (I don't think they'll win, but hopefully it gets interesting). Call me crazy..

Cleveland just turns it on in the playoffs, their crowd is LOUD and LeBron gets pumped and they play defense, very good defense. They're an overacheiving team like we were the past 2 years, they don't have a ton of talent, but they play as hard as they can every game in the playoffs. Before it was like LeBron had that team believing they could win and he could take them there and since they got to the Finals they KNOW they can, it's pretty impressive to see. I really don't think they could beat Boston, but Detroit, yeah, I do. Detroit has mental lapses, as shown against Philly and Cleveland is always focused.

he forces the issue, so the zebras are pretty much forced to make calls. I don't compare his drives to DWade phantom calls at all. No boogety boogety boo calls if you know what I mean.

The Caves wouldn't have a chance against the C's unless they had divine (read Stern) intervention. But I really don't care about the underdog winning it or not.

All I want is the best story line and sweetest revenge in rout to this championship.

I'm hoping the Celtics go all the way and the Lakers show them acquiring Garnet and Allen was for naught because the Lakers are the new dynasty of this era.

The Sky in KG's nightmares is Purple

can you imagine the affect on KG and Boston in general if the Lakers were to deny the Celtics the championship in the finals. mhihi

Don't give Stern any ideas, we don't need D-Whistle 2

The Cavs are extremely dangerous, The team on paper is better than the team that went to the finals while chopping down big bad Detroit in the process. You would be crazy not to think they don't have a shot IF James plays at his peak level and the team plays to it's capabilities defensively. The man, like Bryant, is capable of stealing a series on his own. Especially if his team plays defense around him and they keep the score in the high 80s, low 90s. James could impose his will in that type of series. Detroit and Boston both like to play it low scoring, could play right into the Cavs hands actually.

as much as i would like to see kobe dunk on KG and the lakers win the title I don't think we are ready...yet for them.

I would love for cleveland to get out of the east and we take them on.. For the C's not to even make it out of the second round would be hilarious.

I think we're ready for them if we have Bynum back and he's been playing in a series or two.

If not....well.... the Lakers have surprised me all season long. I wouldn't bet on them losing to the Celtics even without Bynum.

Same here. A Kobe and Lebron Finals would be nice, but there's something special about Lakers vs. Celtics for any of the older basketball fans.

I hate Cleveland
I DESPISE Boston.

That said, I am eagerly awaiting this series to get underway tomorrow.

I'm guessing Celt's in 6

I hope it goes 7 and they kill eachother in a slobberknocker, with Sam Cassell being the only survivor, right before blasting off to his home planet

If Cleveland can pull one out tonight... watch out.

I'm praying this happens.
