Here is the deal. I am a full-figured man, we'll keep it at that. As a child and young man I always enjoyed going to amusemtnt parks and riding the big rides. But since I was about 20, I have been nothing but discrminated against by Six Flags and other big ticket amusement parks such as Kings Island and Cedar Point in ohio. Because of my size, I cannot fit in the teeny little seats they put in their rollercoasters snd therefore they will not allow me to ride these rides. They also love making a jackas s out of me by turning me away in front of large crowds as these lines are always full of snickering people who yell things at me.
I vividly remember a particular incident at Cedar POint in ohio. They have this ride called Millinneum Force, a giant rollercoaster that goes near 100 mph and up like 300 feet. Outside the queue they have a tester seat where you can see before you waste time in line whether or not you can ride. I sit in the tester seat and don't even come close to fitting and this frigging jerk starts snapping pictures of me trying to move the lap bar and his buddY starts making pig noises at me. I guess my question is do you think I could file a lawsuit against these companies for discrimination? And also don't you think it would be fair if these companies made seats to accomodate people of size? It's blatant discrimination and everyone can see that and it really hurts my feelings as I have not been able to enjjoy one of my favorite childhood activlties in nearly 13 years. I'm anxious to see what others think as I am seriously considerig calling an attorney. Thanks guys and ladies. _________________ Don't EVEN call me Tuffy......you better call me Fluffy!!! |

iono bout discriminated but thats happen to me. it comes with the territory of being big. i always knew it was gonna happen one day and wen it finally did, the girl was really nice about it and i jus walked off. ya, its really embarressing specially in front of everyone, but its for safety reasons more than anything. _________________

They have to make those seats universal and most people just aren't that big. They also discriminate against short people, if you want to call that discrimination.
Its really unsafe for people too big to get on them anyway. I remember hearing about a lady who was too big for a ride at knotts and fell out and died while riding it. _________________

Define full figured.
EDIT: It doesn't really matter, point being if you're too big to ride the rides you're too big. They're not going to let you ride and have an accident like you falling out because the safety harness can not fit.
Frankly it is not discriminatory if it is something you can control, you ultimately choose how much you weigh and you're health. What you eat, you're activity level, whatever.
Now, don't think I don't understand you're situation, I am 6-5 and and weigh 290, flying on airplanes, going to basketball games, basically anything with public seating is a PITA because my knee's are in my face and I am elbowing the person next to me.
That said I have never been 'turned' away at an amusement park because I was too big, frankly for that to happen you have to be severely overweight or be 6-10 or something. |

i don't get why they should be obliged to accomodate your size. you don't deserve to get snickered at, but they also don't owe you a seat either. as mentioned earlier, they have height restrictions. are they discriminating against the vertically challenged? there is also an issue of safety. if going to an amusement park is really a passion of yours, you can still go on the rides if you can cut down on your size.

I don't think it's worth a lawsuit because those rides have weight restrictions, and breaking those restrictions can lead to the ride failing which can put everyone at harm.
Now if the employees were the ones taking pictures of you and making pig noises, then I think you might have a case.
But again, I am not a lawyer so I don't know, there's a good message board for "legal" questions filled with lawyers, but I don't remember it right now.

Sorry man but I don't think you're a real poster you're just some former poster who thinks they're funny and got the idea to make fake usernames from that whole Sirron fiasco.
-No one comes to the open court and spills their deepest inner feelings in their first 10 posts
-No one comes to the open court in their first 10 posts anyway
-Most people don't get an avatar until they've posted a little more than 10 posts
-If you really were obese you'd be sensitive to fat jokes and the topic of obesity/anorexia and other disorders; hence you wouldn't have that stupid corny avatar
That's like a Black Person coming in and saying he's tired of being discriminated against and people calling him a gangster and pimp for no reason. Then in his avatar he has a picture of a black guy wearing a shirt that says "pimping aint easy" _________________

I dont think you much ground to stand on, I have NEVER seen a roller coaster that caters to overweight people. I also think it might have something to do with safety, Having larger seats might mess with the aerodynamics of the coaster itself. |

Yes that is me in the avatar and yes I am VERY real. I am not ashamed whatsoever of my size, but as I said I get very tired and frustrated that people sneer down at us and do not go out of their way to accommodate us as they do everyone else. What, because I am a man of size I don't count? Am I "subhuman" because I enjoy food and have heredity that isn't exactly GQ? I think not.
And the part of enjoying stand-up comedy has nothing to do with me personally. Am I amusing anywhere in any post I have written on this sight? I am not exaclty Jerry frigging Seinfeld or Eddie Murphy in his heyday. I do not think I should have peope thinking they have the right to discriminate against me because I get pleasure from eating. To me a damn good meal is one of life's biggest thrills and I won't apologize for loving hotdogs, steaks, burgers, pizza, and other succulant foods.
If Wal-Mart and other places can accommodate people of size b providing motorized carts, wheelchairs, and other mechanical helpers, why can't six Flags build bigger cars to let us enjoy our lives too? I do not think it is too much to ask.
With regards to Fluffy, it is a name I was given when I was locked up in Jefferson county if you must know. A man who theycalled Snake took me under his wing and taught me how to survive during my stint and he called me Fluffy and I am proud of that. It actually intrigues people when they hear that I go by Fluffy and is an instant icebraker when it comes to getting people to talk to me.
Thank you to those who were genuine and honest and also to those wh are supportive of my cause. I may be contacting you via messages for advice if that is ok with you. _________________ Don't EVEN call me Tuffy......you better call me Fluffy!!! |

Of course that is not me in the picture, you think I want my photo all over the web and risk who know what? Let me just say that I am a very similar build and yes I am proud of who Iam. Yes, Great America in Gurnee, IL. At those I was denied at Raging Bull and Superman. The one is Kentucky was the worst, I was denied on the water ride, Penguin's something or another which is the whitewater raft ride because they claimed "the car was over it's capacity". Guess it was good I didn't stay long at that park seeing that a girl lost her feet on one of their rides. _________________ Don't EVEN call me Tuffy......you better call me Fluffy!!! |

How are you being discriminated?
If they enlarge the seats then they put small people at risk.

| Obviously you felt like you could fool everyone. But if you're being serious about you're real size, what the people do to you at Six Flags isn't discrimination. They can't put everyone else at risk just because you want to ride a roller coaster. Obesity is one of our biggest problems in America these days, lose weight and all your problems will be solved. |
