if you look at the team playoff stats so far this postseason, you will see that lakers are owning the league right now:

#1 Record: 7-2

#1 in Points Per Game:

#1 in Point Differential:

#1 in Field Goal Percentage:

#2 in 3-Point Field Goal Percentage:

#2 in Defensive 3-Point Field Goal Percentage:

#1 in Assists:

if we keep this up, we just might win another championship for los angeles jam2

I like to see us win the tough games.

We can get you with our high-octane offense and drop 130 pts. on your arse or battle it out and win the chippy ones!

These past two series have done us wonders!

Just you watch!

Lakers are the most dominant in the west. Celtics are the most dominant in the east.

Interesting

And the two teams that show up most often on top list in the West - LAL and NOH.

Coincidence? I think not.

Lakers are looking good, and that's without Bynum and Ariza. I can't wait to see this team in November.

Great find Choson1!

bow

They have really been looking great. Nice to see the stats support it. We aren't just looking through homer glasses - Lakers are playing extremely well. Game 6 tomorrow will be a big test, see if they can deal with another very good team with its back up against the wall. The close out in Denver was huge for us, but this is the real deal with a much better team that plays superbly at home (and will have some benefit of the refs too if everything plays out as it has).

New Orleans appears to be playing better defense.

But, they haven't been playing us in the play-offs.

I really, really, really hope we play New Orleans in the next round. It will be so much fun.

We are also giving up more ppg than any team except Denver.

I don't think you included our rebounding numbers either. Classic example of how stats can paint a false picture by which stats are in focus.

meh stats are stats. I think Detroit's outplaying any team in the East right now. They're 7-2 against better competition in the East if compared to the Celtics, plus they beat Orlando on the road to close out the series to get to the ECF. Impressive. I wouldn't be surprised if theres a Laker/Detroit Finals. Funny how things would go full circle if we win. Kobe/lakeshow lost in that series and everything sprialed out of control after that. Now we're back on top as is Kobe, and if we win that would just be sweet jam2

Let's take care of utah first man11

PPG are relatively meaningless. Differential is a much more telling stat (both intuitively and statistically). You're right about the rebounding though.

No idea we were playing at such a high level, hope we could keep this up and stay consistent. You would expect Boston to be better then the Lakers but there still struggling on the road. Good for the Lakers.

some defensive stats we are doing well in:

#1 in point differential
#2 in steals
#2 in blocks
#2 in defensive 3-pt FG%

however, we are doing horrendously in rebounding.
