i don't know if this should be here or summer league discussion but it seems like mata (from ucla) will be dressing up for the lakers this summer, according to a facebook status message. as a bruin, i'm happy for the opportunity he's getting if indeed it is one.
most of you probably don't care but i thought i'd just throw it out there... |

| sweet always cool to know another ucla/lakers member on this forum. i go to ucla currently myself. although i would be pulling for the best for mata, realistically he's nothing more than a big body who has his moments defensively. in terms of offense, the guy is probably as bad as kwame brown but we'll see what goes on. |

I agree tho with the guys above me...he doesn't have the talent nor the physical ability to survive in the NBA...

I actually thought Mata played well when he had too. He can rebound, hustle and has some defense.
I pray he can become a Landry , Bass or Milsap haha, probally won't happen but I pray. |

| He could be another Rodman IF he learns how to shoot free throws. 25% won't get you to the NBA. |

No he couldn't. Rodman was a basketball genius and as bizarre as he was, he was a video tape-aholic. He had more dedication and determination than any PF in the NBA today. _________________

He can be as good as DJ Memgba. He has size and hands and knows to dunk the ball. More than that, he is an excellent chemistry guy. He is probably a better match than KBrown. |

Out of all the Vegas League games I watched yesterday, he was by far the worst player on any roster. _________________
