the only way to trade luke that benefits us is to trade him for a contract just as bad as his but at a different position
something like luke for troy murphy |

Most of the league doesn't consider Luke to have a bad contract.
Luke is getting paid about what he is worth when at this best.
Unless the team has a long term salary plan (Knicks, Nets, Cavs, etc.), Luke's contract will not be considered negative value to most teams. Vladimir Radmanovic is another story. _________________

I disagree quite heavily with the Luke>Radmanovic but the contract of Radmanovic at least ends earlier. I think a Luke or Vlad+a little cash+Charlotte 2nd for Matt Caroll is in order.
At least we'll be able to make use of that damn 5-6m every year for something useful instead of paying Sasha and Vlad/Luke.
Then who knows maybe Mitch can pull something out of his [Swearing is not permitted at Clublakers. You must edit this post prior to submitting.] and make another trade like that a for a backup big man. |

Luke is a very marketable player. To be real, he's white, has a very famous father, and is an attractive young man. In the NBA today, that is marketable.
5,000,000 a year is not unreasonable for the talent he brings to the table. Unless the team is on a 2010 plan, I can almost personally guarantee Luke has more value around the league than Radmanovic who: is known to disappear, provides one skill, has a much larger contract (which he is not worth), and is a known bonehead both off and on the court (slalom vs. space cadet). _________________

WTF
Brian Scalabrine sucks balls like a porn star, just with a lot more teeth. I wouldn't even trade dog poo for Scalabrine... let alone Luke Walton.
Scalabrine is in the strict sense] a constant waste of oxygen, salary cap and roster spot. Yes, thats how much I hate him.
He is one of the top 5 worst players in the league. Even Matt Bonner has a good game once in a while...
To call Scalabrine garbage is an insult to all scrub players in the league.
His championship speech....disgusting. Last thing I needed was a fruitcake like Scalabrainless to talk trash. _________________

i dont know why but alot of people here seems to be concerned about the logjam at the SF spot. thats the reason why this thread was even created.
scalabrine has 1 year left on his contract, lets not look at it from a talent to talent stand point but rather what it would accomplish by saving money and freeing up minutes for odom, ariza, and radman. |

1. Scal isn't a SF he is a bag of water that sits on the end of the bench.
2. We can save money by signing me for the minimum and I would contribute as much as that clown without ever stepping on the court.

He has a point. Teams like Sactown and Utah would be interested in him. _________________
