|
|
| Quote: |
LA Times: The Lakers increased ticket prices across the board for a third consecutive season, a relatively unsurprising action after the team paid almost $5 million in luxury taxes on last season's payroll and faced a larger tax hit next season.
Courtside seats were raised from $2,300 to $2,500 a game, an 8.7% hike that moved beyond the typical annual increase of 4.5%.
Seats in six lower-level sections between the baskets -- 101, 102, 110, 111, 112 and 119 -- were raised from $230 to $245, a 6.5% increase that also topped the team's normal action on such seats.
The league average for ticket-price increases is usually 3% to 4%.
Other tickets in the lower bowl at Staples Center will be $210, $147, $110, and $85, increases of 4.8% to 6.3%.
Tickets in the upper bowl were raised slightly to $40 or $28, not including 500 seats that are a league-mandated $10. |

| if Bynum averegas the most dunks per game for this season and hes healthy all year, then Id say its justified , IMO the many games became boring after he was injured |

Well if your paying that much money a small increase like that shouldn't make a difference. Smart move by the lakers. _________________

its why they put the word "die" in live and die in LA , if it was cheap and easy , most people would do more "living" |

Good move. They're gonna need it to pay for all these contracts. _________________

Yawn. I don't want to hear about the fact that Buss has the Luxury tax to pay, payroll is high, etc.
The fact is: every single home playoff game is pure, absolute profit for the man. And we just finished a run of 11 playoff games... the guy made BANK this post season.
While I don't care too much about the increases, I just don't want to hear "we didn't sign Player X to the MLE or LLE because of Luxury Tax/Payroll concerns" Which is what a lot of columnists/bloggers have been writing all summer. _________________ "No disrespect to Kyra Sedgwick, but that damn boy Kobe Bryant is The Closer." |

I completely agree with you last stand, I love how Bynum lets his game on the court do the talking...rather than through the media. Watching him play, it looks like he has the same hunger as Kobe, and is relentless and unwilling to backdown from the competition. I can't wait until the Lakers start to play off Bynum as the primary offensive threat. I'm sure it's going to be a maturation process while he adapts to new looks and decision making but ultimately it's going to give Kobe and the rest of the team so much more freedom...as well as his own. I really hope in the 09-10 season, that the Lakers have made Bynum #1, Kobe #2, Pau #3 offensive options. _________________

Can't wait for this season while Pau and Kobe give Drew all those open dunks _________________

Really dude? That usually doesn't work at Staples Center. If you get a $10 seat then all the seats in that area are also $10 seats. And the ushers will not let you into a section before checking your ticket no matter what.
Plus Staples is almost always at full capacity for Laker Games.
Whatever, they better win the chip this year because us fans are going to be paying up the arse! |

Depends on the section, the particular game and your demeanor. I've gotten courtside with tickets in the 300's. _________________

At this point with HD-TV and gas prices it is just more reasonable to stay at home and enjoy the game in your comfortable couch. Not to mention you run risk of seeing a horrible loss which IMO is a waste of money right there. _________________ Strikemode14 is the greatest.
