Now that they lost Posey there might be a good chance of the Celtics looking elsewhere for some help , perhaps Sasha may get an offer from them ?

I doubt Boston will be offering the type of money Sasha apparently is seeking.

Boston already used their exception on Patrick O'Bryant.

If Boston didn't want to give a 4-year MLE offer to one of the main reasons they won a championship, they sure as hell aren't going to give Sasha Vujacic an offer that the Lakers won't match.

Boston isn't a threat, IMO. Philadelpia, Washington and Cleveland still are.

I'd forever hate any Laker who accepted a deal from the Celtics.

they might offer him some money, to force us to match and pay more money.

if I were the celtics though, I would have a try at Sasha. Ray Allen could be a good mentor to the Machine, and eventually could take Ray Allen's place in the celtics.

If I was Boston I would offer him the full MLE...

1. Sasha is probably worth it if he keeps playing like last year
2. They pretty much FORCE us to match
3. If we don't match they have replaced Posey with a better player.

If Sasha gets a full MLE offer sheet, I doubt the Lakers match. And I would support that decision too, since Sasha is not worth that contract. He's a 4-5 million type guy and that's with the assumption that the level of play we saw this season is maintained going forward.

Although I must ask, where was this stinginess when it came to retaining Luke?
I understand the impact of the luxury tax, but Buss has to realize he'll make that money back big time with long playoff runs.

Boston is not that dumb. They don't lack offensive, they want a defensive stopper. Sasha is the farthest thing they want.

Watch, they'll find some way to snag Artest. The Queens will probably just take back some garbage for him just to spite the Lakers.

I wouldn't match either...but the Lakers will be forced because the last team they want to strengthen is Boston. And since it takes away our 6th man and gives them a 6th man...the magnitude of it is bigger.

Well now we know that they are seriously considering it.

Boston is not in the Sasha sweepstakes because Boston is sticking with their own plan to have major salary cap available in the summer of 2010 when Lebron, Wade and a lot of other top free agents hit the market.

Only Garnett, Pierce and Perkins have contracts over two years with the Celtics. Boston passed on Posey because he wanted a contract for three or four years.

However, rest assure, the Spurs are going to push hard for Sasha after losing their three point perimeter shooters, such as Barry, Finley and Robert!! Spurs will give Sasha a five year deal and it is likely to be close to their full MLE. The Spurs have Duncan and Parker locked up for the next 3+ years, so don't expect the Spurs to be bidding for the top free agents of 2010.

please...Spurs signed Roger Mason and spend the bigger part of their MLE already...so thats a moot point.
