Eric Pincus from hoopsworld describes Quinton Ross as an ideal pickup for teams like the Lakers and Celtics now that his rights were waived by the Clippers to make room for Kelenna Azubuike.. I personally would have LOVED to see the Lakers go after Kelenna since I think he could be a much more potent bench player than even our beloved Sasha at a discounted rate. Anyway, since that is no longer a possibility, what do you all think of the prospect of bringing in Ross? I know he is an established perimeter defender, but his offense is EXTREMELY limited, and I would much rather see his minutes go to Ariza or Sasha (granted he resigns).. I guess it all depends on if we hit the jackpot by getting a premier defender that can actually score (i.e. Artest, Marion).. Still Quinton Ross signed to the vet minimum might not hurt matters considering the way we got manhandled on the perimeter by Pierce and (sometimes) Allen in the finals.. _________________ PG- Fisher/ Farmar

Q-Ross is a solid man defender...I wouldn't mind to have a crack at it...
he is cheap and we can certainly use a good defender...he cant be worse than Coby. _________________

I think Ross is a solid backup, I wouldn't have a problem with bringing him on. _________________ Weezy's Weemens

As I posted elsewhere, the collective physique of this team is heading toward anorexic. Ross is a good perimeter defender against "softer" teams but has always had trouble getting easily knocked off the ball by teams that set aggressive screens.
When he was on our SPL squad a few years back, he got knocked around pretty good when there were more physical players on the floor for the opposition. It earned him a non-invite to camp.
Enough with the beanpoles who have never seen the inside of a weight room. This team needs to get tougher, not skinnier.
Pass. _________________

LOL, the Los Angeles Anorexics... where is Shaq when you need him to teach the team how to pack on a few extra LBs. _________________ "All men having power ought to be distrusted to a certain degree."

I think you take him over Coby, and maybe even Walton if you had a chance to move him.. I'm so done with Luke it's not even funny.. _________________ PG- Fisher/ Farmar

i agree, luke is well done at this point
Ross isn't a bad signing if we do, but id rather see that money go somewhere we need it more, namely the PF position which we have Gasol and umm... who ? Lamar i suppose at the moment but now that Ronny is gone for sure, we need some more size rather than small guards that get beaten up too easily |
