You can do ads without utilizing pop-up ads.

Dude, there's this plugin in firefox called Adblock and Noscript.

Like seriously. It takes lesser effort to download those rather than to view the ads that you're saying.

your poll is wrong. you need an option called "Indifferent." Of course, nobody is gonna "like them" who the heck would vote for that? thus, you only leave one option that is not going to reflect the mood of the members.

Those ads are not pop-up. It redirects your page to the ads pages while you are on CL. Those F_ing ads forces me to read for 10 sec. then, I have to click "GO BACK" to get back to CL. On top of the, it does not redirect me back to the same page that I was reading. WTF?

After reading those ads, I must re-click the page I want to read? Every time I click on a new CL page, the ads comes back again. mad1

I am going to quit coming to CL if they don't stop it. bang

I don't get popups but sometimes I try to read a page and it redirects me to an ad and I have to click back and stop to read my thread.

This should be in the site suggestions forum though.

No one enjoys paying the bills but they are a fact of life. If you asked me if I'd prefer a site I'd have to pay to visit or deal with the ads, I'd go with the latter.

I haven't been getting pop up ads, but still. If you aren't paying to run this site, you need to put some tape over your mouth. Don't bite the hands that feed you...

Those redirect ads shouldn't be showing now... if so the problem is Google, which would surprise me.

If you see them any more, please respond in the other thread where we are working on eliminating them.
