ClubLakers All-NBA Draft
Rules and Regulations
1.) There will be 16 teams. Each team will be responsible for creating their own team thread, giving themselves any team name they desire. I’ll do my best to choose managers based on who was first, but also on your post history, if you’ve done GM League’s before, and so on. Only those who will be fully engaged will be allowed.
2.) The draft order will be randomized. I’ll do this myself using random generation tool online. You’ll have to trust me. The first pick in the 1st round will get the last pick in the second. It’s much like a fantasy draft. Picks will be made in order and posted in this thread. NO GOING OUT OF TURN. After each team has eight players, there will be another random draft, where the same rules will apply afterwards. This will spice things up.
3.) There are going to be 15 players per roster. Where you place players on your depth chart (three per position) is where they will primarily play. If you list Kobe as a PG, or Marion as a SG, I'm sure the judges will take that into consideration.
4.) There is no money value, contracts, or anything of that nature.
5.) You cannot trade your first overall pick. The first 16 players off the board are going to be the elite of the elite in this league, so choose the foundation of your team wisely.
6.) At the end of the challenge I will allow each team to make up to two trades. However, a player can only be traded once. You cannot send out more than two players at a time and you must get equal players back (1 for 1, 2 for 2).
7.) Teams are expected to go into "win now" mode for the most part. Since there are no contracts, I feel it would be easier for judges to base the winner on who would actually win in a seven game series. HOWEVER, if by some miracle of God you're able to put together a young team with enormous potential, you can make a case in your write-up as to why you should win. I would try to win now personally, because I'm guessing the judges feel more comfortable crowning a champion that has proven talent on the roster.
8.) When the draft ends, all sixteen teams will need to complete a write-up. 1000 word limit, 250 minimum. Choose your words wisely. The judges will then pick a Sweet 16 where match-ups will occur (16-1, 15-2, 14-3, etc) based on the judge’s rulings. Those teams in the match-ups will then do another write-up, with the same word count, on why their team is better. From there, winning teams will face off against each other until there is a winner. |

KB8, I told L4L
I am having my examinations right now...I'm not sure to find the time...
but I told him as well, if there is a spot remaining and nobody can make that commitment then I will give it a try _________________
