How about this trade to fix up our frontcourt depth. Nets have Williams on trading block lets try this.
Nets Trade Williams and Van Horn
Lakers trade: Walton and Crawford/karl
Nets get rid of the 8 million they owe Van horn who will never play and actually get a solid vet with finals experience who can help the younger guys on the team. Yeah I know why would they take a 5 year contract? Well his contract is an average NBA salary and its not really going to affect getting LeBron or anything else. Plus they need some experience on the team. Also Crawford or karl gives the team another young option at SG
Lakers clear one of their SF and gain a frontcout player who can replace Ronny. Brings a little toughness to the team.
Lakers Possible Line-up
Fisher/farmar
Kobe/Sasha
Odom/Ariza
Gasol/Radman/Odom
Bynum/Williams
Solid Line-up with decent depth
If this doesn't happen lets just sign Kwame, he'll help this line-up with his size I think he is a nice back-up with triangle experience. You can't ask for more then that at his bargin price. |

The Nets would never do it.
Luke interferes with the 2010 plan and Williams has serious upside and value. _________________

You forgot to add the fact that Luke sucks and Crawford and Karl probably won't bring much either. |

The trade is so bad that it doesn't even get to the point where Luke and Karl's contributions on the basketball court even come into the discussion. _________________

Well L4L you tell me how we are going to get another big man because right now we would get worked in the second and third quarter because we have no bigs in our second unit. Oh and please don't say mih because thats just stupid.
At least this trade make more sense then Lamar for Artest. Trade our best rebounder and chemistry for some defense and what else ??? If you will remember there was a time when people actually wanted Luke and thats how he got a 6 year contract out of the Lakers. Just because you do not like Luke doesn't mean people who actually know something about basketball don't either.
Oh and one more thing Lebron is not going to take up the whole payroll. So you can have someone go over the 2010 free agency. Plus Walton instanly fits Nachbar's role so thats where his playing time comes in and thats how he will contribute to the nets. I like how everyone forgot how well Luke played the whole Denver series, when he's good everyone ignores him when he's bad he becomes the scapegoat.
As for Kristic, blown out knee and another Euro, I'd rather have Walton |

How we are going to get another big man and why the Nets decline this trade are two completely different subjects. I mean, I'll send Luke away for Tim Duncan too, but the Spurs aren't going to accept the deal.
Luke Walton does absolutely nothing for the Nets. They are trying to rebuild. They want prospects, reduced payroll, and space for LeBron AND PARTNERS in 2010 (remember there are MANY, MANY other huge FAs in 2010). Luke is an unnecessary financial burden. Trading away Williams goes against the rebuilding code.
There is no reason for the Nets to do this.

L4L you are so popular here on CL i think indianballer likes you also anyway i agree with you. the only team i think that might take puke off our hands one day is the pukey green celtics since he is a pukey green celtic legacy. i don't think they would have any bigs they would be willing to trade now but maybe in the next season or 2 maybe. other than that nobody wants puke walton. _________________ the posting artist formally known as west-magic-kobe |

They should trade an athletic, shot blocking PF, with a high ceiling, who has a minimal contract that extends past the LeBron date for... Luke Walton? _________________

lol guys Sean Williams high celing? You have to be joking the guy's good but he's proably just 10 and 10 guy who plays decent defense at BEST. I mean ok we probably don't trade Luke because he's coming off surgery, but you guy's think WAY to highly of Sean WIlliams.
If you look at the trade we are helping the nets a lot. We're taking 8 million in Salary for a player who's long gone from the NBA. Yeah I know when Van Horn's contract expires, but paying 8 million for nothing could make you entertain a trade like this. It's not like we're robbing the Nets look at the trade completely. I also think Luke fits well into Lawrence frank's system and I don't think sean williams does.

no. the nets think highly of sean williams..and that's really all that matters. either way it makes no sense to take on walton's contract. _________________

10 and 10 in his rookie season isn't bad at all. Why would they make that trade when they can have Williams for cheap for several more seasons, including when the huge free agent class is available. _________________
