Sacramento trades: SF Peja Stojakovic (20.2 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 2.1 apg in 38.9 minutes) SG Cuttino Mobley (17.4 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 2.8 apg in 36.4 minutes) PG Eddie House (5.6 ppg, 1.2 rpg, 1.3 apg in 12.7 minutes)

TRADE ACCEPTED
Due to L.A. Lakers and Sacramento being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. L.A. Lakers and Sacramento had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. |

Well I know that this thread was created to be sarcastic, but I am at work, bored, at 4 in the morning and I have been thinking about offseason moves. Tell me exactly how out of line I am with the following.
I think we should rekindle the trade with Utah for Boozer. I think, however that we should make it for Butler, Vlade and ATKINS instead of George. Utah needs a point guard and may be even more interested getting Atkins, who has performed very well for us this year along with Butler who is playing GREAT to finish out the season. Most likely, Divac would be waived and we could pick him back up for the Vet’s Min.
Secondly, I think we should go after Maglore in the offseason as well. I believe that putting together some expiring K’s and a serviceable Center might possibly be enough to do the job. Trading George, Slava and Mihm for Maglore and Dickau would be ideal; however, I don’t know how likely this is.
I think we should the pursue Griffin for our backup PF. He has done great in Minnesota and would do very well for us as well. I am not sure what price range he will be in, but if we can pick him up for the MLE, I say go for it!
Draft Felton, Head, and a player that fills an area of need and we would be set!
If all deals went through as I have lain out, our roster for next season would look like this:
Dickau/Felton/Head
Kobe/Sasha
Odom/JJ
Boozer/Griffin/Cook
Maglore/Grant/Divac
And an extra draft pick
I may be off and just not know it… I have been up working all night. To me, however, this sounds doable and realistic. What do you all think? |
I like this trade Idea but I say we go after Madsen too...or instead of Griffin...mabye we can sign both of them to MLEs or trade Cook for Mark and go on from there...I personally like Madsen alot and I want him to come back to L.A.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! _________________

I'm still hoping for this trade later on in the summer.....
Lakers trade: Lamar Odom, Devean George, Brian Grant (and cap fillers)
Lakers get: Kevin Garnett
Starting lineup (my dream):
PG: Felton (assuming we draft him)
SG: K. Bryant
SF: Butler
PF: K. Garnett
C: Mihm

Our offense is definitely not the problem, it is defense.
We will probably end up in the draft with the 10th pick, with that said the best point guard that is going to be available at that time will probably be Jarret Jack, and I like him good defense, can pass the ball, solid shot, and he isn't selfish, a good triangle player. Plus he has good size.
It would be nice to Felton, but realty setting in, we will probably draft Jack, good thing about Jack is he his NBA ready...so we can throw him in the lions pit and be ok.
I think we trade Odom away for Boozer.
Trade Butler, expiring contracts for Magloire.
Give Vlade a small extension (2 years @ 3 mill a year)
He would come in and give 15 mpg behind boozer/mihm.
Than when Peja becomes a FA he comes to LALA land to be with his best friend Vlade.
Than 2007 starting Roster consists of:
Jarret Jack (6 million a year)
Kobe Bryant (13 million a year)
Peja Stojakovic (8 million a year)
Carlos Boozer (10 million a year)
Jamall Magloire (8 million a year)
Starting Line up cost is 45 million a year, spend 15 mill on our bench (after B. Grant contract is done in 2006, which we could trade away for some talent for a team looking for cap relief)
We resign Mihm to a 4 million dollar a year deal, have Vlade at 3 mill a year. Jumaine Jones to 2 million dollars year, Luke to 1.5 million dollar a year deal.
We wouldn't need a terribly deep bench at all, all the guy in which could be our starting line up would play a solid 40 mpg, than you got Chris Mihm/Vlade Divacs to come in and play 20 mpg back up behind Boozer/Magloire frontcourt while you have Luke/Jumaine Jones to play back up to Kobe/Peja.
You try and sign a solid back up point guard (not atkins) and were set.
Total salary per year
Kobe 13 mill
Peja 9 mill
Boozer 10 mill
Magloire 8 mill
Jack 6 mill
Divac 3 mill
Mihm 4 mill
Jumaine 2 mill
Luke 1.5 mill
Sasha 1 mill
Cook 1.5 mill
59 Million a year
with the salary cap is going to be raised to 50 million in the new CBA and give us room for 2-5 million for new rookies and project players, we should only be 10-12 million over cap as opposed to now we are 20 million over cap.

Aaight aaight lemme get a shot at this....
L.A. Lakers trades: SG Sasha Vujacic (2.9 ppg, 1.7 rpg, 1.1 apg in 9.9 minutes)
PF Lamar Odom (15.2 ppg, 10.2 rpg, 3.7 apg in 36.3 minutes)
PF Stanislav Medvedenko (3.9 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 0.3 apg in 9.9 minutes)
L.A. Lakers receives: SF Ron Artest (24.6 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 3.1 apg in 41.6 minutes)
SF Jonathan Bender (5.1 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 0.6 apg in 13.3 minutes)
Change in team outlook: +7.7 ppg, -5.4 rpg, and -1.4 apg.
Indiana trades: SF Ron Artest (24.6 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 3.1 apg in 41.6 minutes)
PF Jonathan Bender (5.1 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 0.6 apg in 13.3 minutes)
Indiana receives: SG Sasha Vujacic (2.9 ppg, 1.7 rpg, 1.1 apg in 9.9 minutes)
PF Lamar Odom (15.2 ppg, 10.2 rpg, 3.7 apg in 36.3 minutes)
PF Stanislav Medvedenko (3.9 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 0.3 apg in 9.9 minutes)
Change in team outlook: -7.7 ppg, +5.4 rpg, and +1.4 apg.
TRADE ACCEPTED
Kick in the 1st round pick for good measure with Indiana reciprocating with their 1st rounder
As much as i'd like to see Kobe get his Pippen, he can relegate that to Caron for now. I wouldn't mind Kobe get his Rodman in Artest.
PG C. Atkins
SG K. Bryant/C. Butler/T. Bobbit
SF R. Artest/J. Jones/L. Walton/D. George
PF J. Bender/B. Grant/B. Cook
C C. Mihm/V. Divac
with Indiana's 1st round pick i'd try to get J. Jack with the other 2 I'd draft the "best" players remaining for possible trade fodder.
Alright lemme have it... _________________

Change in team outlook: -0.4 ppg, +4.6 rpg, and -1.0 apg.
TRADE ACCEPTED
Due to L.A. Lakers, Minnesota, and New York being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. L.A. Lakers, Minnesota, and New York had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. |
