i don't know if you're serious or not, you do realize this all thread is filled with dumb, groundless , hopless trades, it's pretty much the point of this thread

So what does that mean...is that a good deal or not???

and if not what about this:

don't get me wrong, i'm not in favor of grabbing these guys, but both are guys who want out and could be had for peanuts, i imagine. i think both might be expiring deals, too, so they could be dealt if it didn't work out.

so, just for conversation's sake, would you be willing to trade devean or chucky for cassell? i probably wouldn't, but it's at least intriguing. i think christie is done, though. cassell still can play a little at the point, but he's a bit of a cancer these days (with his contract whining)--though he'd be motivated to earn that deal next year (which the lakers shouldn't give him even if he did return to last season's form).

anyway, just food for thought.

i was going to post this as a topic, but i thought it belonged here.

You people fail to realize the Cavs need a coach now too, Flip Saunders anyone?

If KG was traded, which won't happen, it'll be Cleveland.

I don't see how Kmart would be dealt immediately after the Nuggets gave up four first rounders for him. Secondly, Denver is about to make some serious noise in the playoffs, I think Kiki will be more inclined to keep the team together for a couple years to see how far they can go.

So I like the Boozer deal.

lamar odom to the bulls for tyson chandler and chris duhon.

this trade would give us a defensive minded point guard who has shown he can score and an athletic big man that plays good defense

Butler for LeBron!!!!

Yes!

We might even pursuade Usher to be co-owner of LA.

Heck let's throw in Lamar for KG as well, and Chucky for Wade!

Realistically speaking, I see the Lakers drafting a PG and trading for a PF. I really think that the Boozer trade will actually happen in the off-season. And if the Lakers are really desperate, Portland is moving Abdur-Rahim.

Lakers trade: Caron
Odom
Lakers get: Alvin Williams
Chris Bosh
Rafer Alston

Toronto Trades: Alvin Williams
Chris Bosh
Rafer Alston
Toronto Get: Lamar Odom
Michael Sweetney

Knicks Trade: Michael Sweetney
Knicks Get: CAron Butler

Successful Scenario
Due to L.A. Lakers, Toronto, and New York being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. L.A. Lakers, Toronto, and New York had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

I think this trade helps out all teams...Toronto Gets rid of alston who has been a cancer to them and recieve future in sweetney and Youth in Odom who will help them more than bosh did...Knicks do this to replace hardaway and thomas...Lakers do this because they need to get rid of useless chucky and improve in the pf position...

Besides the fact that I can't see us getting anything less for Caron AND Odom, this is a great trade. Just what we want, another shoot first pg, an injured backup pg (that's what Alvin is, sorry), and another undersized PF to bang against the West. In my mind, it's Caron and Lamar for Bosh. No bueno.

(Sorry this isn't completely Groundless)

Quote:
LINK: http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/basketball/story/302055p-258556c.html There are other roster moves that have to be made. But if there's ever going to be a turnaround in New York, it has to start with Marbury. Not moving from point guard to shooting guard, but moving on, to a fifth team where he could perhaps enjoy success as the No. 2 man to a dominant star, or playing for a taskmaster-type coach.

There's a very simple reason why Thomas has to do an about-face: With Marbury miscast as a leader, it's just not working. If it was, the Knicks wouldn't be going to the lottery with 33 wins.

NY is interested in ODOM and many believe that they may be willing to move Marbury.
Quote:
If the Knicks are serious about playing a quicker style and spreading the floor with shooters, Odom would be a great addition. He can play power forward, run the offense and create mismatches. Odom had shoulder surgery two days ago but should be ready for camp.

Not an exact fit, but an interesting scenario (particularly in reference to their salary cap woes)
