I'm not sure if anyone else heard this but there was a rumor just now on 570 AM.
Lakers trade: Caron Butler and #10
Bobcats trade: #5 and #13 |

Nothing against you Kobe1Kenobi, but why does everyone rip Mitch ? People were praising him as GM of the Year 2 years ago when he signed Malone and Payton.
Buss ordered the Shaq trade. Mitch got the most he could for Shaq. NOT ONE team stepped forward and said, "we offered more then Miami did."
I'm not a huge mitch fan, but he's nowhere near as bad as everyone makes him out to be. I love Jerry West, but even he made some mistakes in his career. (anyone remember him NOT drafting Amare ???) _________________

Amare came out in the 2003 draft which made this his 3rd year in the NBA.
Mr West retired sometime in '01 and joined the Grizz in '02 I believe
So it was Mitch who did not draft Amare. |

His first year with the Grizzlies. Drew Gooden at #4 and Amare to Phoenix with #10. Say it with me: DREW GOODEN Yes, Jerry has made mistakes (and I'm a HUGE fan of his). |
Part of the reason that Amare was still available to the Suns was because he didn't work out for any other team. He worked out with the Suns and they promised him that they would take him. Jerry Colangelo called Amare's agent the next day and asked him to cancel all other workouts. It would be hard to take a high schooler that you can't actually get a look at. I can't blame anybody that passed on him when you can't actually work him out. It's easy to say it's a mistake now, but under the circumstances, West didn't have much control. |

Hindsight is 20/20 folks.... anyone can say "Oh why was Sam Bowie drafted ahead of MJ, or why was so-so drafted ahead of this superstar"....
Alot of times, the draft's promising stars dont turn out as superstars, and stars end up being guy's you couldnt see star potential in, its the way its always been.
It's mainly about letting the cards fall where they May. _________________

if this trade went down and the bender trade went down, we would have one exciting draft to watch. we would have the 5, 13, and 17 picks _________________ How can you be the king if you have never sat on the throne? |

CARON for the 5th and the 13th????????? this is nutz..
Why don't we trade one of our SF's like Walton or JJ for that draft. Caron attracted a lot of the other teams attention and I think if we have to trade him , he will be a big piece in a big trade. _________________ Magic , the only way to bring back the go0d old days. |

Thats what I´m saying. Caron AND 10 for 5 and 13th isn´t what we need. 2 rookies may start for us next year. If we trade Caron for the 5th and 13th no big man will come to LA. _________________

That's because no one wants them.
If I was the other team trading with the Lakers, I would ask for Caron every single time, and laugh at the idea of getting Walton and JJ. |

aint butler and the 10 pick is too much for 5 and 13 pick cmon guys ...
butler gona be a good player
bobcat butler vs our 5 pick
bobcat 10 pick vs our 13 pick
wow who u think gona get the best deal in this
im against the trade .. if it was butler alone for the 5 the 10 and 13 pick then it will be something to talk about
remember guys if im not mistaken butler is in his second year,, avg bout 15 ppg last year... butler is ready now to be a great player he would be mature enough in his third year
we gonna have to wait 2+ years for thoose two pick to be a great player and im sure there no lebron james or carmelo in this year draft |

I think he si gonna be a very good player this season
He also played different went kobe was injured.
he took more responsibility and attacked the rim
but he has to stop making STUPID CHARGES! _________________ ''Nobody tells me how to play my guard spot''

So what happens when Kobe ISN'T injured? Caron and Lamar are the only tradeable players on the roster.
So in other words, a 34-48 team should not make ANY trades?
Nobody wants our other players, they suck!
Caron is a good player, but not an impact player and won't ever be. |
