i was just thinking that lets say in 2 yrs time when guys like amare & yoa become free agents and we cnt sign them becoz they either become loyal to there teams and re-sign with them again or maybe they get better deals from somewhere else, wouldnt it be good to just take the gamble on signing a guy like Eddy Curry to play for us now i mean hes very young just like all the players in the lakers very talented averaged 16.1 ppg only thing needs work on is his rebounding and id say we'd be safe for yrs to come in not looking for a big man to play centre for us becoz he is a legitamate centre that could provide so much for us plus if amare and yao stay with there teams or sign elsewhere we can fall back on curry which is good i just dnt know now if lakers could sign him becoz his due to make alot of money. Our team would be set for yrs to come with a line up of:
PG- ??? SG- Kobe SF- Odom PF- Kwame C- Curry now thats a great line up if we get a pg aswell lol. i just rather have us suceed now then wait 2 yrs in hope of us signing a guy like amare or yoa to be contenders again.

Where's the money for Curry coming from after the same money is used for 1 or 3 guards?
Curry won't take the LLE to play, just won't happen. Not that he's that good, and honestly I wouldn't gamble on his heart problem - cleared or not. We have one with Turiaf, another isn't necessary.
Curry, if available at all, will most certainly get offered more than an LLE to play somewhere.

The only way to do it is with a sign and trade, and Chicago would want our crap. I'd say, not likely. If they are going to trade Curry, pretty sure they are going to want another big back. Are you willing to give up Mihm, our only center, in a trade for a big risk heart problem player who only put up decent numbers for the first time in a contract year????
It might be a risk that would pay off, but he also might not fit the mold of what we are lookin' for. He hardly rebounds for a big guy. We don't necessarily want a score first, sorta rebound, out of shape big buy like..... |

The team will still have to pay Brian Grant's salary, and it will remain on the payroll until his contract expires. The only savings is that his salary no longer counts against the luxury tax. _________________ Beat LA? In your dreams! Go Lakers!

| Why don't we just get rid of the "Trade Rumor" section? It's basically Lakers Discussion part 2. |
