if we have kobe shaq and malone...we will win

if we have no kobe shaq and malone, we'll hafta hope for a career night from GP...which is highly unlikely, and we will lose without 3 of our big 4...

we need to win this game to get some revenge on this team...

What about our starters for this game:
maybe:
PG Payton/Fisher
SG Rush/???
SF Russel/Walton
PF Medvedenko/george
C Cook/sampson

I dont know about Shaq but probably he wont play

Rush, Medvedenko must step up with some numbers. Cook and Sampson must have breakout night in defence and get some points also. Fish..... God just once please!!!!
Payton must remind himself of being a leader. We will need assists from Walton and few 3s from BRuss. George its a high time to back the team up! I've got a feeling this will be one of thoese nights when everythings clicks jam2

Lakers 98
Nuggets 94

We will not have either Shaq, Malone & Kobe, but without them GP & our bench players can prove, they can play well!!!

Melo is going to walk all over us, who we really need to keep our eye on defensivly is that clutch Earl Boykins.

im sorry guys we will NOT win...i repeat...we will NOT win without shaq karl and kobe...there is no chance...we lost to denver BADLY even with kobe...do we even have a chance without kobe and our big men? Unless payton has a career night(33 pts 12 rebs 10 assists kind of night) and kareem rush goes for 20+...which prolly wont happen...WE HAVE NO CHANCE

I honestly can't see it as a blowout for them, Shaq isn't motivated but does know that since its only him and Gary who can carry the team to victory the pressure is on him, lets hope he can do what he does best and thats dominate. If Shaq plays we might win by a FEW points or lose by less than 10. If he doesn't then they might as well as the L to our record.

Neither do I-- last report I heard is that Shaq was having trouble moving side to side with his legs.

LA Times reports: Shaq won't play and Fisher will start

starting line up:
Grant
Slava
George
Fisher
Payton

This doesn't make a lot of sence, because he is going to play the point off the bench? Rush or Walton?

why do you ask? pissed that i think the lakers will lose? if you responded the way you did because of my baseless prediction then you need to kick back.

we will win because we signed Ime Udoka. Not really, but I think we may be able to pull off a win here, if we play some good team ball, like we did in the second half of the Cavs game and against the Hawks.

I will post my player matchups tomorrow

i believe that rush and slava will have a nice game tomorrow. each at least over 10 points. The deciding factor of whether we will win or not is if gary payton will pull a 5-22 night again or if he makes a decent 12-18. Look for the lakers to make the trasition to a running game tomorrow. i dont really expect too much of the triangle offense as there is no legit players to fill up the remaining two spots.

Win or lose. With the Lakers being shorthanded, I'll be happy if the Laker role players just put up a great effort esp. in rebounding and defense. Cook, Rush, Sampson, and Walton hopefully will use this game to showcase their skills and potential. The coaching staff and fans will be watching them closely. I like to see Slava, Cook, and Sampson try to get something close to a double double (pts. and rebs).

I'll be pleasantly surprised if the Lakers beat the Nuggets. They certainly can, but everyone must play great defense and make their shots. Anthony should be double-teamed every time he gets the ball and the guys must rotate when he passes it. Losing again to Denver will hurt, but given the current situation, I hope the team gives a good effort and makes the game close. This is a difficult time and all the players must rise to the challenge. :man7:

As of this morning on Lakers radio, I heard that the trainers have cleared Shaq to play tonight, but it'll be up to him if he decides to do so. As of yesterday, they said he was at 60%.

Also for ALL Laker fans, especially the Southern Californians, not quite sure when but there will be an unveiling of a Magic Johnson statue at the Staples Center. WHAT AN HONOR!!! bow I'm sure we'll hear more about it soon!

Regarding tonight's game, GOOOOO LAKERS!!! I don't care which Lakers play....just fight hard boxing1 and win!!!! jam2

If we win with only GP that shows that our bench is decent.

Our bench has proven they are decent-- our problem recently had been DEFENSE. Poor rotational defense, poor defense in transition, poor pick and roll defense.

Payton/Miller & Boykins: Gary is our leader tonight, he is the only hall of famer left, look for him to have a big game and get out of the slump he was in against the Cavs. He has be aggressive and score more points. He knows we can't afford to lose a lot while we are without Karl, Shaq, and Kobe...we need this win, So if he wants to win bad enough, he should be able to go out there with the attitude we can't lose and give us a good game on the offensive end. He needs to shut down Miller, and do the same with Boykins when he is in there. Payton has to look to score, but more from the inside, he should be able to do better against Boykins, because Earl is so small, Payton can back him down ad push him around; but Payton will need to keep up with him, because this little guy is very fast and is the best thing the Nuggets have going for them coming off the bench. And please, Fisher don't let Boykins destroy you like he did last time, that was embarrassing

Rush/Lenard: We all know Rush can score, and he will need to do a lot of that tonight. Also, he has to play strong defense, Lenard is by far not their best player, but can heat up and fast...and I would prefer if he didn't do that against us. Rush has to guard him tight at the 3 point line, because that's where he likes to get going from. I think Lenard will win this matchup.

George/Carmelo: George has to step it up, especially since he hasn't given much on the offensive end. I don't care if he makes a single basket (even though we could use an extra scorer tonight), but would much rather him have a big defensive game against Carmelo and prevent him from scoring very many points. Carmelo is a much better player than George and definitely wins this matchup. I just hope George can't stop him and if he can't, Russell must come in...we can't have a unproductive George in there if he isn't doing anything. I doubt George will do much for us, and he will let Melo get 20+ points, like he did last time.

Slava & Cook/Nene: Nene is a lot more powerful post player than Slava. But Slava has been more than impressive lately. I know Nene will have a better game than Slava, and probably prevent Slava from getting some rebounds. I don't another 25+ point night from Slava tonight. Cook will definitely be given a good bit of time tonight, especially with his solid play recently. I think he would have another good game tonight, he just needs to watch the fouls so he can be useful for us for longer periods of time. Good new for Slava and Cook, Nene isn't a very big offensive threat, so defense won't be very crucial tonight, allowing both of them to focus most of their attention on offense.

Grant/Camby:
Camby will have a better game than Grant tonight, he will outscore and outrebound him. Grant needs to try and prevent him from getting easy baskets, and needs to try and shoot some high percentage shots tonight, and if his shot isn't there, then stop shooting (because when he forces his shot, he didn't get us anything) and just focus on rebounds.

tha x-factor will not be rush or fisher tonight..it is DEVEAN GEORGE...he needs to stop carmelo from gettin 30 on us, and he needs to step it up OFFENSIVELY...he does REALLY BAD when we dont have shaq...he needs to show that he can play good without shaq kobe and malone giving him wide open looks...

i didn't even know they played tonight. damn i'm happy now even if we lose. but i can't wait to see rush, cook, and slava. i'm begging to love them a lot more, esp cook. i've always like slava and kareem, i don't really think anyone knew what to expect from cook. anyways i saw we win tonight, by 1 to 10 pts.

man11 Don't play Shaq.. we don't need him getting worse and missing the year... stranger things have happened when teams are depleted as we are. This is gonna be the make-or- break game for Fisher.. if he doesn't step up, he's gone... I don't think we can win, but I think it'll be closer than most think... but then again, I've been wrong a whole bunch of times.. man10 I forgot to record the game but I probably won't want to watch it anyway.. man10 Anyone gonna be doing a play by play??
