MASSACRE'S MATCHUPS - LA LAKERS (3-3) @ HOU ROCKETS (6-2) PREVIEW [G 7]
Coming In:
The last time Houston and Los Angeles met, the Rockets walked out with a 95-93 victory courtesy of a Shane Battier in the final seconds of opening night. Houston aims for 4 straight vocitories over Los Angeles tonight at the Toyota Center.
The Lakers come in off a 107-92 loss to the San Antonio Spurs, in which Kobe Bryant was held to only 18 points. "We just have to take some lessons from here and use them ... in future games," Bryant said. "For a young team like this one, it's important to play teams like the Spurs and learn those lessons and then apply them."
Los Angeles had come in as the second highest scoring team, trailing only Utah, putting up an average of 108 points per game, only to be held to 92 points by one of the league's most aggressive defenses. "They're a defensive team first,'' Bryant said. "That's what they hang their hats on. That's what wins championships."
San Antonio went 13-27 from 3 point distance, led by bruce Bowen who made 6 of those. "Once you get out of kilter, they just kept breaking us down and putting the ball in shooters' hands,'' said Lakers coach Phil Jackson.
3rd year center Andrew Bynum continues to quitely put up impressive numbers as he grabbed 12 rebounds to go along with 11 points last night, he's averaging roughly 10 points and 10 rebounds per game for Los Angeles this season.
Houston & Los Angeles split the season series last season, each winning 2 games apeice.
Massacre's Matchup:
Lamar Odom, Los Angeles Lakers - Lamar creates a mismatch for Houston on the offensive end - Houston will have a hard time defending both he and Bryant. Look for a big game out of Odom. Predicted stats: 19 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists.
Tracy McGrady, Houston Rockets- Tracy has been putting up insane umbers early on in this season, Los Angeles will need to stop Mcgrady or Yao to have a chance at winning this game - both will be tough to accomplish. Predicted stats: 23 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, low field goal percentage.

Yao and Tmac are the best duo of NBA. Kobe is alone now.

Already we leave Battier WIDE open. Lamar with the bucket. I notice ESPN is ahead of KCAL 9 by like a second. _________________ Weezy's Weemens
