No Yao, so that makes Amare a starter.

Also no Boozer, so Stern will replace him too.

Wow, they snubbed the NBA's leading scorer. Pathetic.

Hopefully he's one of the replacements.

Still that's ridiculous.

I'm not sure how either, unless these coaches lied:

Honestly, I like Josh Howard, but I think this whole movement to put him on the team is pretty ridiculous. I don't know who in the media started it, but I can name you a few players that deserve it over Josh Howard.

Elton Brand
Ray Allen
Zach Randolph
Baron Davis
Lamar Odom
Rashard Lewis (arguably)

Tony Parker? WTF? He has had a decent season, but I wouldn't consider him an All Star.

I think it's close. If Josh makes it, I certainly won't complain. He's had a hell of a season so far.

I would put Brand or Zach in it first.

Shard's injury cost him his chance.

I think Odom and Howard is close to a wash, I could go either way.

I wouldn't put Ray or B. Diddy in it over Howard because they are guards. No, that's not their fault but I think that should eliminate them as replacement options. With Kobe, T-Mac, AI, Nash (D'Antoni might rest him), and TP; I wouldn't want another guard. I want those guys out there as much as possible. I think Ray would make it a 3 point contest and make it boring.

I dunno how you can make a case for Brand. production is down. numbers have dipped. team has been one of the most dissapointing.

Melo deserves to be on this team, that just isn't right. It's going to be weird to see AI on the West as well, that's for sure.

Baron should be in over parker. melo and randolph should be the injury replacements.

I read an article in one of the SA papers today and Tony said he wasn't expecting to get in. I think he got in more on reputation and what's he's achieved in years past.

Howard is having an excellent season, but if he get's in over Carmelo, then I think it's a joke. Put Melo in there with Odom, Randolph or Brand (preferably Odom).

imo i dont think odom is an all star this season.
missed about 15 or 16 games? and isnt puttin up the same numbers as melo and the other great fowards
but he had a great year this year
but its hard for odom to be an all star with all the good fowards in the west

It's just because he's in Duncan's shadow. I think he's having just a good a year this year as he was last year, there's just not as much hype about him because TD is playing better.

If Lamar was healthy he should have been on the team over Amare

LO

18/9/5

Amare

18/9/.6

disagree

Carmello should have been an all-star the last 2 seasons mad1

Melo and Camby would be my choice for replacements. Unlikely, because of Melo's suspension and that would make 3 Nuggets on the squad, but they are the most deserving replacement forward and center.

The ones who are injured and can't play but were selected, they are still considered an "all star" historically and statistically correct?

Yep. Now picking their replacements is up to Mr Stern.
