If Lechoke I mean Lebron is the leader of the team then how come he only got us a bronze medal last year, if any player from last years roster should have been the leader it is Melo and now that Kobe had to watch last year's team, he must of felt like down MAN these don't have that special and unique edge!!

I say Kobe. But, the media and the general NBA fan will say LeBron. Just look at that ESPN "Who's now" thing. Kobe couldn't even beat A-Rod. LeBron is probably going to win that whole thing. He's more marketable at this point.
Look at the press conference after the game yesterday. LeBron sat in the center and Kobe and Kidd sat next to him. I just look at it as foregone conclusion that he's the face.
But, like a previous poster said, LeBron can be the face, Kobe's the heart. |

| I find it funny how the media tools and James all claimed Team USA should all be about teamwork, and they prematurely urged Kobe to 'fit in' and not to show his supposed selfishness, yet they have to focus on who its face is. |

Its gonna be kinda hard to be the face of USA when the fans in vegas will be chanting Kobe's name all summer long, just like the all-star game and on Sun.
Plus, Kobe is going to be the go to guy, not Lebron. Also, no one will look up to LBJ like they will to Kobe or Kidd, its kind of embarrassing and akward for another player of the same age, or older than lebron to be looking up to him, especially when their skill level is near or equal to Lebron, and even more so when you have such an accomplished player like Kobe who has done it all, and who is usually agreed upon as the best player in the NBA. |

Kobe's behind of this team. If team looses, everybody will surely kick this behind , unfortunately.
if face=leader, i think kobe is...

Kobe will be blamed if we (some how ) lose or don't live up to expectations.
LeBron will be praised when we do well, It's just the way BSPN is. _________________

forget being a laker fan... even a kobe hater would say kobe.
come on... not a debate IMO.
kobe is a vet with a butt load of experience, one of the top players, clutch.
lebron is one of the top players. that's it. isn't a vet, isn't clutch. 1 outta 3.
coach K thinks it's kobe.
I'd give it to kidd before lebron... lebron is still a young gun... by next olympics... i'd expect lebron to be the leader... but this is kobe's time.
while the article does bring up good points on kobe having more baggage compared to lebron, the article fails to mention kobe has remained 100% consistant on his stance for team USA. it's all about the team... i don't want to talk about the lakers... i'm just focusing on team USA. _________________

A leader doesn't have to announce he is a leader. Bron is caught up in the hype created around him. If I had to claim a leader from the big 3 from that draft class (Bron, Wade, Melo) I would easily put Melo who took all the crap from the Larry Brown and still came back. He showed up and didn't complain about coaching, playing time or anything. Lebron and Wade both failed to show up in the clutch and failed to lead a very well built Team to the Gold medal game twice. No Lebron isn't the leader he is just another skilled piece of a well stacked team.
You have to have faith in your leader, believe in his ability and believe he is going to battle with you and for you. You also have to respect him/his game while understanding his commitment to the overall goal of the team. I say that would be Kidd, who put his 28-0 international record on the line for Team USA. Billups who has the veteran moxy and respect from all the other players. Kobe who is considered the best of the best active players period. These three guys have the tools, the experience, the desire and the respect to lead this team to victory. All I have to do is ask myself which players would I want making the final decission in the make or break game? Kobe, Kidd, Billups and Melo would be my choices in no particular order. I'll even say I like Wade if he is surrounded by three point shooters because of his first step but I wouldn't trust Lebron to finish the game off. On this team he is a primary roll player IMO. _________________ Q: Do you understand that the Sacramento fans might be frustrated with the uncertainty?

that video was funny...Lebron was delusional...didn't even say it with conviction...said it like he was skurred...but what was really funny was the comments of the posters...you ought to go back and read the comments...one kid simple said:
"Hey Lebron...Kobe's in da house motha f*ccccaaaaaaaaaaaa....." <lmao> |

It's going to be really funny when Kobe has to take the GW shot.

To add to my book (post above) I also think that Kobe doesn't want to be the leader of Team USA he just wants to win the Gold no matter what. _________________ Q: Do you understand that the Sacramento fans might be frustrated with the uncertainty?

He's lying to himself if he thinks that. I expect many slaps-to-the-head from Kobe. |

TV scrimage coverage annoucers said Kidd and Kobe were the two most vocal in pratice. Kidd, who never lost a gold medal, "Don't screw this up" and Kobe, with his obvious experience, seen talking it up while players listened in timeouts.
Indeed, little doubt. |

Kobe is the face hands down. How RETARDED CAN YOU BE to say Lebron is the leader? Buddy you've been in the league 4 yrars. Grow up some kid.
Where's he when you need him? He'd dominate against anyone. _________________ IF ANYONE HAS ANY GAMES FROM THE 2004 WCF GAME 1-5, PM ME

it doesn´t make a difference who the face is as long as all people contribute and make themselves assertive and do what they are asked to do. _________________
