Heir’z Corner: Trevor Ariza Trade

On Tuesday, the Los Angeles Lakers acquired 6′8 forward Trevor Ariza from the Orlando Magic in exchange for Brian Cook and Maurice Evans.

Stats:

Cook- 2.3 ppg, 1.70 rpg, 11.7 min
Evans- 4.4 ppg, 1.7 assists, 13.7 min
Ariza- 3.3 ppg, 2.2 rpg,10.5 min.

My Analysis:

I haven’t seen a lot of Ariza’s game since he’s entered the league. His only asset is that he’s a great leaper and all around athlete.

We’ve all been frustrated with Cook thus far, I don’t think anyone is particularly sad to see him walk. Mo had been struggling so far this season to find his role, he wasn’t blending well with the rest of the team while they’ve been playing well. But still, I wouldn’t have minded Sasha being part of that deal instead of Mo. We’ll see how this works out…
