Perhaps the biggest difference in this team from last year and this year is their depth allows them to deal with injuries better.
C Bynum - Kwame
F Odom - Radmanovic - Turiaf
F Ariza - Walton
G Bryant - Vujacic
G Fisher - Farmar
We're unlucky this game as LO and Vlad are both probably out, but in general look at all those guys that can step in and fill various positions.
Kwame's basically missed as much as he did last year at this point. Mihm's been a non-factor, as he was last year. But Bynum's been so much better, it hasn't mattered.
Odom's been injured early in the season, and wasn't himself until December. Again, the Lakers were able to get through that because of Radmanovic, Walton, Turiaf all playing well in November.
This team really does have about 11 guys that can step in and give the 10-15 points a night. From Kobe, Bynum, Odom, Fisher, Farmar, Radmanovic, Walton, Ariza, Turiaf, Vujacic ... and we basically only need 6 out of those 10-11 guys to play well each night to have enough points on the board to win. Then it comes down to defense, and how well they've played D that particular night.
Good Strategy/Roster for the regular season. Come playoffs though, our core and 8 man rotation has to be set and very consistent to have success IMO.
