It’s a Warzone Around Here! With emotions running high and blood boiling through the veins of nerve wrecked fans scattered around the world, the once storied franchise of the Los Angeles Lakers has turned into, well, the Los Angeles heart-attacks. Maybe I’ve been on the IntraWeb for too long, back when the only thing that would really tickle my twine was getting punted off of AOL by some wanabee hacker looking to make a name for himself. I guess what I’m trying to say is, the in-fighting has gotten way too out of hand around here. Message boards we’re always popular, as we’re picture rating sites. You had every random shmo creating a free angelfire URL in hopes of turning their little message board communities into a powerhouse much like Club Lakers. Well I was one of those shmo’s, excited at the idea of my first WWF and WCW/nWo Fan Site. Boy was I excited! I was so excited, I even had a store where you could buy shirts representing our tiny community. Of course I didn’t sell a thing, but that’s besides the point. It was bliss, I felt like the King, the man, the all-mighty Administrator. Nobody messes with the Admin. But like many other’s who attempted, my little pet project failed at building a fan base. Yet there was the minority of forum’s that didn’t let the agony of defeat stain their souls. The land of Club Lakers has turned into THE PREMIER website for 24 hour Laker related news and rumors. Granted, you’re going to have your up’s and down’s, only the strong survive, the one’s with the will to keep the journey alive and keep the community growing. That my friend’s would be Club Lakers. I haven’t been a member long enough, more or a less a “Lurker”. I’ve read member opinions, valued the intelligence of many, and learned a lot from just visiting and reading simple posts from your everyday average Joe and Jane Laker fan. It’s quite amazing if you put it into perspective. The various personalities, the clashing of opinions, the Greco-Romanesque mind-frame that man carries with him to this day. “Pride has always gone before a fall.” Nobody wants to be any more wrong then the next guy, and when frustration builds, you have a community of hundreds of various thoughts, opinions, and rhetoric. This always leads to conflict, much like the situation within the Laker front office, disagreement and disapproval. The way I see it, the debating, the opinions, the rhetoric, it’s all there because someone sitting at home, (much like you reading this right now) was thinking up their own way of saying what’s on their mind, decided to come to the community they feel most comfortable in, and release their thoughts, tension, confusion, frustration, excitement, or whatever else emotion you think up off the top of your head. What I’m trying to say is, let’s just have respect for one another’s opinion’s and value each other’s fanship, instead of infighting, and putting each other down in spite of one another. Club Lakers has the greatest fans the organization has, that’s a fact, whether you agree with me or not. And if you don’t agree with me, go suck on an egg, you closet Raja Bell fan…..yeah, you! Sound off in the Los Angeles Lakers Forums!
