Don't kill the messenger... I didn't say it, George Karl did.

George Karl deserves to be slapped. Period.

Hold on though, where was the actual quote that he said that in the article? Did I miss it? :man3:

What do you expect? He's melo's coach. He has to say that just to motivate his SF. Besides, who cares what George says. He's sorry. One of those old guys who believes people should be playing the game the old-school way. Blah blah blah. So is he amazed when people shoot 3 for 4? Wow, that's 75 %. Astonishing! What an idiotic thing to say that 81% shooting is as amazing as 81 points.

Right in the headline BDG

'Melo follows Kobe's 81 with 37 vs. Raptors
Nuggets coach Karl says Anthony's performance almost more impressive
Kobe wanted a team of his own. Now let's see how it will work out....

I saw that, bro but where the actual quote of Karl?

I wouldn't put it past George "I Hate Kobe" Karl to make such a ridiculous statement, but I didn't see the quotes in the actual article. Almost like MSNBC is putting words in his mouth.

Oh My Gosh
can you say he makes himself look like an idiot?

I´m still pissed off he mentions Melo in comparision to Kobe.
I mean HELLOOOOOOO?
Melo is not even the best Small Forward (not even top 3 SF) and Kobe is the best player in the league :bang:

Some of you guys overreacted. George Karl called Kobe "a super-human athlete." We need to read with an open mind and see the greater picture from a coach's perspective. To him, Melo is HIS best player just like T-mac to Guncy and Shaq to Riley.

George was impressed by Melo's HIGH percentage shots which to him more important than the total points scored. He had a legit point while praising Kobe at the same time.

Guys, George Karl used to hate on Kobe so damn much when he was on ESPN as an analyst. He used to bash him so much about the simplest questions. He is disguising his hate for Kobe. I DON'T CARE IF MELO WENT 16-16. That still wouldnt be as big as Kobe's 81. So many fools are trying to downplay it. Calling him selfish, this that. Fine. You have to be to get 81. You're telling me you have a chance like that and you will pass it up? Give me a break.

settle down. he said something stupid.
he's was trying to turn what kobe did into a positive thing for his own team.
melo's night was pretty darn impressive.
not many guys in this league can go 13/16, and score 37 points.
in fact, i think the only guys who have done that in their careers are amare stoudemire, and shaquille oneal.

81 points > 37 points. that's the bottomline.
