Magic's comment about Kobe and Lakers this morning

Magic was on the local hip hop station this morning talking with Big Boy on Power 106. I don't remember everything he said, but I can provide a few things I do remember.

-He said his phone was blowing up, and he was calling everybody regarding Kobe's game.

-Magic said Kobe is MVP. He said Kobe brought the game to another level. And people will remember this game for a long time.

-Magic said Kobe is continuing the Laker's greatness. And how the fans are spoiled in LA because Lakers have a tradition of greatness, and have so many championship runs.

-Magic said he liked Kobe's poise after the game and how he conducted himself. And how this is great for Lakers and the whole game of basketball.

-AND THAT LEADS TO HIS NEXT COMMENT: If Lakers makes 2 moves, they are championship contenders. He said they need a second scorer, and another role player that knows his role.

And it seemed like Magic was hinting at something the way he said it. It was like he knew something, but couldn't say it. So it will be interesting...

And Mitch was on the local sports radio this afternoon, I think it was on the show with Joe Grande.

Most of what Mitch said was just the usual blah blah. However, he said that when Kobe came back into the locker room (after a long stay on the court to give interviews and what not), all his teammates and Mitch and other Lakers personnel were all clapping. Kobe blushed a little and was surprised by it.

I found that kinda cool.

Artest is out of the picture. I was talking to the head basketball coach of Riverside Community College - who knows the inner workings of the NBA, scouts, etc. - and he told me that the Lakers were not even going to touch Artest...
