Kobe’s Quote: Will it Silence the Critics

You have to admire Kobe Bryant.  Why do I say this?  The man is honest at the risk of being hit over the head from all sides by the media.  If we would all just hear what he says there would be no question about his (or the Lakers) intentions for the future.  Case in point is his most recent quote following the Cleveland game.  I won’t cut and paste it here but safe to say he _praises_ Drew Bynum as the ‘guy he has prayed for’ and that says a lot.  Especially from a guy (who whether serious or not) was caught on video grinning in a Best Buy parking lot saying otherwise last summer.

I am pleased as a fan with what I am seeing now on the surface which appears to be a Kobe who is trying anything he can (even running to Kwame’s defense) to motivate, develop and build up his teammates and help them shine.  I think he truly wants to stay.  Its obvious he wants to win.  There is much heavy lifting yet to come.

Be back after the Lakers kick off their road trip which will be a true test for this team even without its newly emeging front court.
