Lakers are currently playing like a 5-seed, which is nice to see.

Earlier this year someone asked what would make my ratings unique. My first thought was that it wouldn't really matter, but I'm seeing something. There is a lot of inactivity in the ratings. That's good, in my view. Teams don't fly up and down the charts. I see these rankings as giving us an idea of which teams will be the best going into the playoffs. So I see them as coming closer and closer to being right throughout the season. So the less activity the better.

Caveat: teams lose and gain players; so sometimes a team should fluctuate in these ratings. An LA team without Kobe is in trouble, for instance. But in general think of this as: the more tests you run, the more accurate your results.
