It's not that hard. We went from almost one of the biggest disappointing teams in sports history based on expectations when we were at 17-25, but we fought back to make the playoffs. By Lakers standards it's not a successful season, no, but it's better than missing the playoffs and at least we finally have something about this team to be a little proud of.
I hear you. I'm not upset we made the playoffs mind you, haha. I'm just not particularly excited about the mere fact of getting in. I am happy with how they pulled it together down the stretch, but then that reminds me they couldn't do it prior to that.
Just used to us being on the other side of the coin, staring down at the bottom seeds and chuckling amongst ourselves about how happy/proud they appear just to be there. And when you see (and receive texts) saying "OMG you guys! 7th seed!!!!!! Wooo hooo!" you're reminded that hey, we (fans) really do all sound the same when we're down here.
You look at their boards and they're all saying "Spurs in 5", "this is the matchup we wanted", and we're throwing out reasons why we should have a chance. Not saying there's anything wrong with it, it's just, when you're used to being on top like we have been, you forget that ultimately, at the micro level, we're really all the same.
I do feel like we're playing on house money though, which is always nice. Time to make history. I guess.
