Dude has looked like garbage so far.

Hope he has another gear he's been saving for the regular season or something.

To be honest I really don't care if he shoots in that 45% range. Our bench needs scoring and a go to guy. Jamison has to take control for our bench to have any real shot of being solid and not be so passive. Of course he could be doing this since it is preseason, new offense/team, etc but hopefully this is the case. He should be around that 10 point range a game if we want to be succesful bench wise.

For now, I'm not concerned, I didn't see a lot of effort from him, and his preseason numbers vs regular season numbers posted recently in this thread show a huge difference, as well as he himself saying he hates the preseason. If he sucks it up in the regular season I will jump in with the criticism, but I don't care about preseason.

I agree if he averaged 20 points in the pre-season and 3 points in April would you be happy???

What 24/23goats wrote is kind of true, although greatly exaggerated.

Jamison chucked up a lot of shots and he's just a terrible defender. I was/am hoping that coming off the bench and having Dwight could mask some of his defensive ineptitude while also hoping that playing with our stars help his offensive efficiency.

I'm confident he'll find his niche and get it going. We need his production off that bench...

maybe I exaggerated a little bit, though I wouldnt call it greatly.

He did have the greenest of green lights to shoot in cleveland so maybe he can be more productive with a more limited role. His D still makes me cringe though lol

Welcome man. We're always glad to have reasonable fans from other teams here.

And it'll be an easy transition for you when Kyrie comes over. :man1:

3 – Number of players in NBA history to average at least 19 points, 7 rebounds and one 3-pointer during their career, with Jamison as one, and the other two being LeBron James and Dirk Nowitzki.

Phil Handy: Antawn and I have worked the most with balance on jump shots, just like with Metta. He has a tendency to lean to his left when shooting, and we're trying to get him to be like a pole, straight up and down. He's got a really nice stroke, which is at its best when he's on balance. And that extends to the work he does in the post as well.

Who pulls these stats out of their butt? John Doe is the only player in NBA history to average 15 points, 5 rebs, 5 assist, 1 block, 1 steal, 82 starts a year and has black hair.

I think Jamison will be fine as long as Mike Brown plays him correctly. I don't think he should be spending much time at the 3.

Jamison looked like he injured his hand late in the game, has there been any news on this?

Jamison played really well last night. Night and day between last night and the preseason. Incredibly active

Basically, yeah. He's going to be another Brown casualty at this point if he continues to play him out of position. Too bad. He actually played pretty decently last night for the most part on offense. He needs to backup at the 4 though, please. Before the preseason started I thought he might be able to play some at the 3, but I think he can't keep up on the defensive end at that position at all any more. Better to create a mismatch on the other end as he's still pretty quick for a 4.

He looked good in flashes, but he wasn't what we needed from him. I feel like he's handcuffing himself just as much as Brown is, so that's not an excuse.

He has to be aggressive. And of course he has to get touches. I don't remember seeing him with the ball very often last night.

Should play mostly at the 4, and only occasionally at the 3.

He is the evidence that Brown is doing awful rotation, Brown wanted the big 4 playing together, with no place for Jamison at the 4. And then playing almost the whole second unit for garbage time.

The key for rotations should be combining 2-3 of the big 4 with 2-3 of the second unit. That way you can take the best from Kobe and Nash, and give enough rest to Gasol.

only reason why he's playing 3 and not 4 is bc mb wants starters in with the bench and in order to have Jordan hill and either Pau or Dwight, Jamison would have to play the 3 and Ebanks gets shafted. so I think that if Nash and Kobe are in with Ebanks Jamison and Hill at the 3,4,5 than I think they'd be Okay. Blake Meeks Jamison Hill and Dwight is also a good unit but doesn't utilize Jamison as much but it did work last night. Blake got 6 assists...that's more than Nash and Blake's playing with the bench. that shows how little nah handles the ball. with the 2nd unit Blake has the ball all the time. that's what Nash needs.

If we have Dwight in the game, why not play Jamison as a stretch 4? This is what Dwight needs, and what Jamison prefers to play anyway. You can have Nash/Meeks/Ebanks/Jamison/Dwight. Shooters, slasher, post player. Or Blake/Kobe/Ebanks/Jamison/Pau (or Dwight or Hill). You have everything this way: shooting, passing, slashing, finishing and Jamison finally gets green light to chuck shots if Kobe can't for some reason (players like Blake and Pau certainly won't complain about him shooting it). Is this really that complicated? :man3:
