Not to mention retaining Hill and Ebanks while already sporting Kobe and Pau. I mean it's just... unreal.

Eric Pincus ‏@EricPincus

The guy on the Lakers who seemed to be the most on-board - open to any role - was Antawn Jamison.

“First and foremost, I’m going to be the guy coming off the bench,” Jamison said, noting that sometimes he’ll be playing with different mixes of starters and reserves, at various positions and in multiple roles. “I’ve been in so many situations in my 14 years, now 15, that I’m able to adjust. I’m able to fit in whatever they’re asking me to do.”

Jamison is a really nice dude.

I really think getting rid of goofy dudes or divas like Barnes and Bynum and adding Nash, Howard and Jamison is a tremendous boost for team chemistry.

I think Ebanks and Morris are the only other space cadets to me that don't look friendly and kind of disconnected. With their limited role, we will be fine though.

Ebanks seems more worried about embarrassing himself on Twitter and his pseudo rap career than B-Ball

I think this is Ebanks last season as a Laker anyway.

Damn, am I the only one that likes Ebanks? :man10:

Anyway, back to Antawn. I think he's going to be our 2nd X-Factor. The first is Metta because he'll be the "forgotten" man in the starting five. The second is Jamison because he's going to be instrumental in keeping our bench scoring up and giving the starters a bench unit that can get them some rest. They don't need to be the highest scoring bench in the league, just somewhere good enough that they can keep or extend leads when the starters come out. He's going to be big for us.

What if we ran a lineup of:

Nash
Bryant
Jamison
Gasol
Howard

That's a hell of a lineup offensively. So much firepower. Everyone can legitimately create their own shot. I'm not saying start Antawn but we could try running him with the starters for stretches during the game. Of course our D is going to suffer.

No he's not. I like Ebanks. I like what I saw from his last season when he actually got playing time. I think he can at the very least be a solid backup for Metta. He doesn't even have to really come in and play great just don't be a liability. Play solid defense and perhaps hit a shot or two.

No, I like Ebanks too. But it's going to be very difficult for him (or any player) to develop here with this team so I think he gets a bit of an unfair shake.

Hope he actually gets some things run for him with the 2nd unit bc he had absolutely nothing in the first preseason game. maybe now that he'll play the 4 he'll get those open looks that Hill was getting and drill them.

Id rather Jamison get those than Hill, and let HIll (at the 5!) get the rebounds/putbacks. But im not opposed to seeing Hill get some of the midrange shots just not at the expense of Jamison's shots like the first game.

Jaminson at the 4, Hill at the 5. Switch off on who gets the open midrange shot. Mike Brown has some work to do now that Hill has that shot but shouldn't move him from the backup 5 spot

Hill can run at the 5. And jamison at the 4.

Jamison wasn't aggressive enough off the bench last game, he probably wanted to get the young guns involved, he needs more plays run for him if any of the Big 4 aren't in.

Im obviously not worried about him scoring bc hes a proven scorer and vet that knows what he's doing but i want the offense to run through him and meeks in the 2nd unit so he can get some easy points.

Hill/Ebanks are the energy hustle guys who can score too. Meeks and Jamison should be the 1st & 2nd scorers off the bench which i think they can be for us.

He also was playing out of position thanks to mike brown. Had he been in position he would have had all of those shots Jordan hill was taking

Nah I do too. I saw that he might of expanded his game to three point line which is a plus.

I hope he worked on his three point shot, did he shoot/make any in the last preseason game?

I like his potential which will be just THAT if he does not get consistent minutes. Of course, he has to be held accountable on the floor but he has shown flashes. Hard for Ebanks to achieve that with Artest looking to be in prme condition this season.

For what it's worth, the Lakers also clinched the Pacific Division, an achievement Bryant dismissed by saying "We don't hang divisions." No, only the big NBA championship banners are considered wall-worthy for the Lakers.
